Rewriting Title IX ⋆ JP

The Biden administration released the semi-final revision of what once was Title IX- the groundbreaking rule that protected women’s sports. The final rule that prohibits blanket bans barring transgender students from participating in the sport consistent with their ‘gender identity’ is not planned for release until AFTER the election.

The Biden Admin has just officially abolished Title IX as we knew it. Now, sex = gender identity.

When Title IX was instituted in 1972, its purpose was specifically to give women equal access to sports.

“No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance.” Education Amendments Act, 1972

How times have changed. Since 1972, nearly every President has rewritten the act, but it’s the latest Biden attempt that is causing extreme backlash from (real) women athletes.

The Act has been expanded to anyone based on their “gender identity.” Schools and colleges will be forced to allow anyone into women’s athletic programs. It establishes stringent rules on how schools respond to any complaints by students. Schools will now have to revise their rules prior to the school year 2024-2025, or they could lose federal funding.

Adding sexual orientation and gender identity to Title IX is another disaster for the Biden Administration and all female students. Just another reason to vote against him in November.
