U.S. Customs and Border Protection arrested a Mexican citizen carrying child pornography at a Texas port of entry.

A press release from CBP said:

“Officers at Juarez-Lincoln Bridge referred a bus passenger, a male Mexican citizen, for secondary inspection due to a system-generated alert.”

“During secondary examination, CBP officers found the subject in possession of child pornographic material, discovered within his personal belongings,” the press release continued.

Homeland Security Investigations special agents are investigating the case.

The suspects’ identity has not been disclosed.

Port Director Albert Flores, Laredo Port of Entry, said:

“Sex-related offenses against children can cause long-lasting adverse effects on the victim’s mental health.”

“CBP collaborated with pertinent agencies to address the heinous nature of the crime, to ultimately bring the perpetrator to justice.”

The incident comes just weeks after border Patrol agents arrested five child sex offenders in five different sectors in Yuma, Tucson, El Paso, Del Rio, and Rio Grande Valley.

The Daily Fetched reported:

Border Patrol Chief Jason Owens said the child predator’s criminal histories included sexual assault of a person 15 years old and aggravated sexual assault of a child.

The news comes amid growing concern over the 1.8 million “gotaways” at the southern border since Biden became president.

A “gotaway” refers to an illegal entering the country and is not apprehended or turned back.

Fox News correspondent, Bill Melugin, wrote on X:

“Another reason why 1.8 million + known gotaways since start of FY’21 is such a concern.

USBP Chief Owens has said those gotaways “keep him up at night.”

Fox News reported:

The arrest of five sex predators at the border came as the FBI warned Monday of a “wide array” of dangerous threats coming from the U.S. border, including drug trafficking, violent gangs, and smugglers with ties to ISIS.

Asked by Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., at a Senate Intelligence Committee hearing to comment on these threats, Wray said there were dangerous individuals entering via the southern border.

“From an FBI perspective, we are seeing a wide array of very dangerous threats that emanate from the border,” he said.
