The Issue: Supporters of Lindsay Clancy, who says postpartum psychosis is why she killed her children .
There is no excuse for what Lindsay Clancy did (“Madness of rooting for a killer,” Bethany Mandel, Aug. 21).
She committed premeditated murder. She specifically asked her husband to go to the store, leaving her alone with her helpless children.
They say she needed help but couldn’t get it because she was overly medicated. All she had to do was pick up the phone and call 911 and state, “I don’t feel good. I need help.” She knew enough to lie to her husband.
Treating mental illness is usually a guessing game for the doctor. No one knows what is going through someone’s sick mind. These types of doctors’ work usually winds up with them prescribing meds that could be a hit or a miss.
Regardless, Clancy is guilty of murder.

I’m a former prosecutor who has been following Clancy’s case with great interest. Only in exceedingly rare circumstances do I believe that someone who committed a horrific act should escape criminal liability. This is one of them.
Clancy, along with her children, are victims, and no one has “forgotten” the children, as Mandel alleges.
This trial is a sickening spectacle designed to absolve our society of failing this mother while pointing the finger at her so we can feel superior. After all, none of us would do this, right?
But how do we know if we’ve never suffered in the way Clancy did?
She knows what she did to her children and to herself. This is far worse punishment than any prison sentence could ever impose.

People like Clancy or Luigi Mangione value their own lives so much that they cannot conceive of paying a price for extinguishing the lives of others. Instead, they fight ferociously to save themselves.
As a mother, I can’t understand how Clancy consciously waited for everyone who would prevent the tragedy to leave so she could end her children’s lives. Isn’t that premeditation?

These women supporting Clancy may have been through a similar situation like her. If you yourself have not been through depression, you should not be speaking about it.
People who live in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones.

The Issue: Prince Harry and Meghan Markle moving back to the United Kingdom after six years in America.
As with any head of state’s family, certain standards must be followed to instill confidence in the government (“The British are going,” Aug. 20).
The Sussexes refused to adhere to the most basic of these principles. They justified their abhorrent behavior by claiming they wanted to modernize the monarchy. Well, my dears, it was never up to a failed Hollywood actress and her man-child of a husband to do so. That would be up to the British people and their parliament.

When Grace Kelly came over from America, we Europeans welcomed her with open arms. When John Lennon came over to you, you shot him. Therefore, thank you for sending off Harry and Meghan in time-honored fashion.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are nothing but spoiled brats who want attention. They did not get it here.
They trashed the Royal Family and ruined all the deals that were offered to them. These two are basically useless people with no defined purpose in life. Let Britain deal with them from now on.
