Trump Says China ‘Very Happy’ With Strait Of Hormuz Transfer, Claims Cooperation On Iran – Journal Posts
President Trump said China is now aligned with his Strait of Hormuz strategy after previously condemning U.S. actions, claiming Beijing is “very happy” with the move and has agreed to halt weapons shipments to Iran as part of coordinated efforts between the two countries.
In a Truth Social post, Trump wrote, “China is very happy that I am permanently opening the Strait of Hormuz. I am doing it for them, also – And the World,” adding that China has “agreed not to send weapons to Iran” and describing ongoing coordination between the two countries.
“President Xi will give me a big, fat, hug when I get there in a few weeks,” Trump wrote, referencing a planned trip to China in May. He added, “We are working together smartly, and very well! Doesn’t that beat fighting??? BUT REMEMBER, we are very good at fighting, if we have to – far better than anyone else!!!”
The comments follow criticism from China after reports of a U.S. strategy involving blockading Iranian ports while keeping the Strait of Hormuz open. China’s Foreign Ministry called the approach a “dangerous and irresponsible act” that could worsen tensions and said it was exacerbating an “already fragile ceasefire situation.”
