Notorious Brewery that Advertised Free Beer the Day President Trump Dies LOSES Permit to Operate | JP

An anti-Trump brewery in Minocqua, Wisconsin might be getting shut down.

The Minocqua Brewing Co. gained infamy after cheering for President Trump’s death.

On social media, they put out an advertisement for customers to get one free beer on the day President Trump dies.

They also made some disturbing follow-up posts after the numerous failed assassination attempts on President Trump’s life.

But now, this brewery’s permit to operate has been revoked by the state.

The reason why doesn’t have anything to do with the social media posts about President Trump (although they really should be investigated for that, too.)

Instead, the State of Wisconsin’s Department of Revenue says that the brewery’s permit was revoked due to tax infractions.

Kirk Bangstad, the far-left brewery owner, is vowing to fight the decision.

Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported:

Liberal activist and brewery owner Kirk Bangstad is vowing to fight “tooth and nail” after receiving a letter from the state’s Department of Revenue revoking Minocqua Brewing Co.’s permit to operate in Wisconsin, according to a July 26 newsletter sent to his supporters.

The revocation is effective Aug. 4, according to a screenshot of the letter Bangstad posted.

The move comes after state officials seized all canned beer from Bangstad’s company in June, alleging the beer was illegally transported from Illinois without securing the proper permits or paying the appropriate taxes.

Bangstad called the planned revocation an “absurd act of heavy-handedness,” suggesting his tax infractions were too minor for the punishment of being shut down.

“They’ll have to pry me out of my taprooms before I stop selling beer to thirsty progressives who come to visit us,” Bangstad wrote in the newsletter. He declined to comment to the Journal Sentinel.

The Department of Revenue confirmed July 27 it issued notice of a brewer’s permit revocation for two Minocqua Brewing Co. locations and notice of an Alcohol Beverage Warehouse permit revocation for one of the company’s locations.

Fox News shared a statement from the Wisconsin Department of Revenue on the situation:

In a statement to Fox News Digital, a spokesperson for the Wisconsin Department of Revenue said, “The Wisconsin Division of Alcohol Beverages is dedicated to the fair and consistent enforcement of alcohol beverages regulations in Wisconsin. The division is required to follow and implement state law, including ensuring permit holders and licensees follow all applicable laws and regulations. The division takes appropriate actions when these laws are not followed.”

The spokesperson added, “We can confirm that the Department of Revenue has issued notice of a Brewer’s permit revocation for two Minocqua Brewing Company locations and notice of an Alcohol Beverage Warehouse permit revocation for one location. The business has until August 4th to appeal and can operate during the appeal process. Should the business decide to appeal, the next step would be to appeal to the Secretary of the Department of Revenue, who will assign the appeal to a Department of Revenue hearing examiner for their recommendations as to proposed findings of fact and conclusions of law.”

Bangstad reportedly has a lengthy legal history with at least two criminal arrests, including:

-Criminal defamation arrest for reportedly posting fake, manipulated p*rnographic images of news publishers

-Disorderly conduct and bail-jumping arrest for engaging in profane harassment of news publishers in violation of his bond conditions from a previous arrest.

In addition to owning his anti-Trump brewery, Bangstad has founded the Minocqua Brewing Company Super PAC — which donates millions to Democrat politicians and left-wing causes in Wisconsin.

Newsweek detailed this guy’s far-left insanity in further detail:

Bangstad is an outspoken liberal who has become known in Wisconsin and beyond following failed runs for public office and feuds with public officials. He launched a campaign for governor in May but failed to submit enough valid signatures to get on the ballot.

The Minocqua Brewing Company, which he purchased with his late wife in early 2016, has become known for its political branding, including a range of “progressive beer” named after Democratic and progressive politicians.

Bangstad has been involved in a string of legal disputes that have drawn attention in the Badger State and beyond, Wisconsin Public Radio reported last year.

Bangstad, who also founded an anti-Republican super PAC, drew bipartisan criticism earlier this year over a social media post that appeared to celebrate an attempt to assassinate Trump at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner in April. The rescheduled dinner was held last Friday.

The post led to agents from the FBI and U.S. Secret Service interviewing Bangstad on April 30.

“Well, we almost got #freebeerday. Either a brother or sister in the Resistance needs to work on their marksmanship or he faked another assassination to get a positive news cycle,” Bangstad wrote on the company’s Facebook page after the incident. He had previously promised to give out free beer “all day long, the day he dies.”

In a response to Newsweek at the time, the company wrote: “Khaleda, you and your colleagues are invited to #freebeerday when it happens. Don’t worry, you don’t need bullet proof vests. We don’t have enough money to hire fake assassins.”

In his recent newsletter, Bangstad suggested the move to revoke his company’s permit was politically motivated.

“Wisconsin’s Tavern league, who represents Wisconsin’s largest beer distributors, is known to be a powerful ally to Wisconsin’s Republican Party. There’s no doubt in my mind that both beer distributors AND Republicans want me out of this state,” he wrote.

“Wisconsin’s Democratic Party recently disavowed me over a joke I made about giving away free beer when Trump dies,” he added.

Bangstad also wrote that during his brief run for governor, the Wisconsin Elections Commission “went through my nomination papers with a fine-toothed comb and invalidated hundreds of signatures which ultimately knocked me off the ballot. Only after I was no longer able to run for Governor was my brewery raided by Wisconsin’s Department of Revenue and the beer I made in Illinois confiscated.”
