Maricopa Courts Seek to Destroy Family

The Sabos lost 5-year-old Theo in an unbearable accident. Then Maricopa judges set $150,000 bonds, barred his parents from contacting one another, and limited them to supervised visits with their four surviving children.

The family returned from a church baptism around 1 p.m. on Sept. 13. Just after 3:45 p.m., they realized Theo was missing. Anca Sabo found him unresponsive in the vehicle outside their Peoria home. Family members began CPR before first responders took him to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead, according to FOX 10 Phoenix, which cited police and court documents.

Mihail and Anca face negligent-homicide and child-abuse charges. Mihail told police he had asked his 14-year-old son to get Theo out of the car. The teenager said no such request came. A Peoria Police spokesman called it a possible “miscommunication” over who was supposed to get the child out.

The New York Post reported that Anca sobbed and pleaded to see her children at her initial appearance. Her attorney told the court she called 911 and attempted life-saving care. The court granted only supervised visitation and barred contact between the couple, married for almost 20 years.

A little boy is dead. His parents now mourn apart, and their surviving children can see them only under supervision.
