JD Vance Wipes The Ground With Kaitlan Collins Whereas Subbing In As Press Sec

Vice President JD Vance, stepping in at the White House podium, clashed with CNN’s Kaitlan Collins after she tried to frame President Donald Trump as indifferent to Americans’ finances while the administration negotiates with Iran.

Collins pointed to what she characterized as a denial from Vance about the president’s comments.

COLLINS: You denied that the president said he was not taking Americans’ financial situations into consideration…

Vance shot back that she twisted both the question and his response.

VANCE: No, see, Kaitlan, you misrepresented the question I was asked, THEN misrepresented the answer that I gave!

Vance rejected the premise that Trump brushed off economic pain at home, calling the media line a distortion.

The president ‘allegedly’ said that he didn’t care about Americans’ financial situations. He NEVER said that!

JD Vance said the remarks in question were about priorities at the negotiating table, not an admission that the White House is ignoring wallets and paychecks.

It was totally taken out of context, what he said is that when he is negotiating with the Iranians, he’s focused on the national security objectives — that he’s trying to achieve.

He argued that negotiating from a position of strength is part of the job and that it doesn’t mean the administration has forgotten the basics of inflation, gas prices and household budgets.

Of course, the president has a mandate to be focused on a number of things, and I guarantee you every single day, I have conversations with him about it.

Vance insisted those talks include the economic squeeze many families are feeling, and he said Donald Trump is still locked in on prosperity and stability at home while pressing Iran abroad.

Every single day, he’s worried about his fellow Americans. He wants them to be prosperous.
