Hunter Biden Launches His Own Crypto Memecoin Inspired By His Infamous Laptop | JP

Hunter Biden is entering the cryptocurrency scene.

For some reason, the ex-crackhead son of former President Joe Biden is now launching his very own memecoin.

And, he’s decided to name it after his infamous laptop scandal…

$LAPTOP will officially launch on September 9th, according to a teaser shared by Hunter Biden on social media.

Hunter Biden appears to be trying to copy President Trump and First Lady Melania, who also launched their own ‘memecoin’ cryptocurrencies.

The Hill reported further:

$LAPTOP will launch on the crypto exchange Base, a global platform built by Coinbase, on Sept. 9.

Meme coins do not carry any intrinsic value, but they often surge in price because of social media hype around their launch. Other politicians and celebrities have launched their own coins, including President Trump and first lady Melania Trump. Both surged in value when launched before eventually crashing.

The 1 billion tokens issued of $LAPTOP will go to its founders, including Biden; crypto wallets whose owners lost money on the president’s meme coin; subscribers to Biden’s Substack; and people on a mailing list curated by a friend of Biden’s, Andrew Callaghan, according to the Journal.

Hunter Biden explained his decision to launch a memecoin further in a lengthy statement on X:

For years, Trump and right-wing media have been asking, “Where’s Hunter? Where’s Hunter?” Well, here I am. Clear, strong, seven years sober, and with a lot to say.

By now, you may have seen the article in the Wall Street Journal that I’m launching a meme coin called $LAPTOP.

The symbol they used to try to end me is now a symbol of resilience, redemption, and recovery.

But why would I ever want to support a meme coin? Why something that has been so misused by grifters? I understand the cynicism. Trump has broken trust in everything he’s ever touched. And his token was no exception.

With $TRUMP, nearly one million wallets have collectively lost ~$3.8B.
With my token, 20% of the coins will be airdropped to the community, and I am even including people that lost money on the $TRUMP grift.

30% of the tokens are tied to a pre-programmed mechanism. We publicly say what has to happen in the world. If it happens, the corresponding tokens are permanently burned. If it does not, those tokens are sent to charity. Either way, they leave our hands and an additional 50 million tokens will go to charity no matter what.

You should not expect me or anyone else to make this token more valuable for you. $LAPTOP isn’t just about owning something, it’s about saying something.
