ELEVATE FLORIDA is a MONUMENTAL OPPORTUNITY to help correct what corrupt politicians and years of neglect have ruined to give Floridians back the security they much deserve.
I’ve been telling everyone that our infrastructure is failing for years, and now the corrupted political machine that produced this land-grab opportunity and its media cohorts are marketing the narrative that we are sinking under the weight of decades of deferred maintenance.
We have watched as our homes and communities have become more vulnerable to storms and flooding, while predatory insurers have taken advantage of this chaos, driving up premiums and making it nearly impossible for Floridians to secure affordable coverage.
The state is now forced to step up to address this crisis created by failed and corrupt establishment politicians of the democrat party with Elevate Florida, the first statewide residential mitigation program designed to protect private residences from natural hazards and stabilize our housing and insurance markets. This is an important opportunity, but it will take bold, coordinated action from local leadership to make it work.
It’s up to you to vote on this leadership!
Elevate Florida will provide direct funding for residential mitigation projects, including home elevation, mitigation reconstruction and property acquisition.
The goal is to harden our communities against hurricanes, flooding, and other coastal threats, and, just as critically, to create the foundation for an insurable market where honest insurers will return, rather than the vultures who have preyed on Floridians for years.
This is about more than just protecting homes; it’s about giving Floridians back the security and stability they deserve.
The state can’t fix this alone.
It’s time for local leadership to step up and become true partners with the state, and the people, by creating incentives and removing barriers to make this program as effective as possible.
Municipalities in District 106, including Miami Beach, Aventura, Sunny Isles, Bay Harbor Islands, Bal Harbour, Indian Creek, Fisher Island, North Bay Village, Golden Beach and Surfside, have a rare and urgent opportunity to align local policy with this statewide initiative and take real action to protect their communities.
Inevitably and clearly some political puppets need to be replaced in this year’s election with true partners of the people.
Here’s how local governments should rise to this challenge if they are serious about keeping you in your homes:
Create Local Matching or Supplemental Grants – Help homeowners cover out-of-pocket costs not fully funded by the state by offering local grants or cost-sharing programs.
Fast-Track Permitting – Expedite the permitting process for mitigation projects to reduce costs and make participation easier for homeowners.
Offer Property Tax Incentives – Provide temporary property tax reductions or rebates for homeowners who make resilience improvements.
Partner with Insurers and Lenders – Work with insurers to secure premium reductions for improved homes and offer low-interest loans for homeowners engaging in mitigation projects.
Establish a Resilience Certification Program – Certify homes that meet or exceed mitigation standards, qualifying them for further benefits and insurance advantages.
Invest in Green Infrastructure – Provide incentives for homeowners who install rain gardens, permeable pavement, and other flood-prevention measures.
Develop a Municipal Resilience Office – Create a local department to help homeowners navigate the program, secure funding, and maintain compliance.
This is more than just a policy shift — it’s a turning point.
Floridians have a chance to protect their homes and secure their future — but only if local governments have the courage to take action. The application portal for Elevate Florida is now open — homeowners can apply for funding and learn more about the program by visiting:
