Miami, Florida – Michigan Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed (Democratic Socialist-Dearborn) launched a cowardly and ugly attack on Vice President J.D. Vance’s wife, Usha Vance. Usha is the daughter of immigrants from India. She and J.D. met while they were students in Yale Law School, and now they have four children. It takes a low character to go after someone’s spouse.

Congressman Byron Donalds, Republican candidate for Florida Governor, made an excellent choice in naming State Senator Bryan Ávila, a Cuban-American Republican from Hialeah, as his running mate. It sends a strong anti-communist message in contrast with the Democrat Party’s left wing. We hope they win decisively in November and send a clear message to Floridians.

A large share of Americans now say that Democrats have moved too far left. Far fewer say Republicans have moved to the extreme right. November’s elections will help decide whether the country stays on a democratic path or shifts further toward socialism.

The recent debate of Republican Senate candidates in South Carolina showed that former Senator Lindsey Graham’s sister is, in this writer’s view, only his sister—not prepared to replace a brother with deep experience. On the other hand, however, her opponent in the final runoff supported Nikki Haley during the presidential primaries of 2024. As a result, President Trump has endorsed Ms. Graham, and the people of South Carolina also decided for her.

The Democrat strategy during the Biden administration, it is said, was to allow large numbers of migrants into the United States in order to inflate district populations, add Congressional seats in key areas, and eventually make another Republican presidency harder.

Congressman Carlos Giménez (R-South Miami-Dade & Florida Keys) looked presidential in a CNN appearance and handled himself well. He had no primary opponent, despite efforts by opponents of his record, and is expected to win re-election in November.

It would be a serious mistake for a socialist to represent Florida in the U.S. Senate. State Representative Angie Nixon, who won the Democrat primary, will face incumbent Republican Senator Ashley Moody in November. Floridians who want the seat to remain conservative have a clear choice.

Charles Spencer, Princess Diana’s only brother, will publish a book in September 2026 titled Swan Song: Diana, My Sister, offering his account of his sister’s story. It is expected to attract wide attention.

Tragic news from Miami: several prominent executives died in a helicopter crash while traveling with family in an African safari. Among the victims was Roger Duarte, the young husband of Nicole Valls, a leader with Amigos for Kids and other charities. Nicole, her parents Felipe and Lourdes Valls, and her sisters own the restaurants Versailles, La Carreta, Casa Juancho, and MesaMar. Roger founded George’s Stone Crab, was widely respected, and leaves a young son. May he rest in peace, and may God give strength to Nicole and her family.

The King is suffering from cancer, and the couple are rumored to have run out of money. There are also unconfirmed reports that Meghan may have been offered a professorship at Cambridge.

Florida’s heat has been brutal, with record high temperatures. Relief is hoped for in the coming days or weeks. Thank God that Americans are not as backwards as Europeans and we enjoy air conditioning.
