IDF Strikes Southern Lebanon After Security Zone Breach | JP
An IDF spokesperson emphasized that “the IDF will not allow the terrorist organization Hezbollah to harm the citizens of the State of Israel and its forces, and will continue to act to remove immediate threats.” At the same time, the military stressed that it “remains committed to the agreement between Israel and Lebanon.”
The incident adds to a series of security events that have occurred in recent weeks in the southern Lebanon security zone. Just days ago, the IDF eliminated a senior commander in Hezbollah’s Badr Unit in the Dir al-Zahrani area, in response to an explosive drone attack that wounded Israeli soldiers.
Meanwhile, tensions continue around the Ali al-Taher ridge in the Nabatieh district, where the IDF is conducting limited operational activity aimed at containing Hezbollah fighters fortified in a strategic underground complex. According to foreign reports, dozens of fighters are hiding there, including senior officers from Iran’s Revolutionary Guards.
