Travis Kelce Talks Being an Uncle to Kylie Kelce’s Youngsters
If you’ve been following the Kelce family universe — and let’s be honest, if you’re reading this, you absolutely have — the Feb. 6 episode of Kylie Kelce’s Not Gonna Lie podcast delivered everything you could ask for. Travis Kelce sat down with his sister-in-law for a wide-ranging conversation that touched on his nieces’ adorable demands, a sly nod to his offseason availability, and the engagement to Taylor Swift that has the entire Kelce family buzzing.
And yes, Travis dropped a line about January that Chiefs Kingdom is going to feel in their bones.
‘I Didn’t Do Anything in January’
When Kylie asked how his body was holding up after all the aerial acrobatics his four nieces demand of him, the 36-year-old tight end had a response that will land differently depending on how your postseason went.
“We’re good now,” he reassured while pretending to bench press the air. “I didn’t do anything in January, so the shoulder’s doing great now. I feel like I’m always making up for the last time I saw them to now on all the airtime they’re missing out on, so I have to get it back up where it should be.”
For a player whose Januarys have typically been synonymous with deep playoff runs, that’s a telling — and self-deprecating — acknowledgment of how the Chiefs’ season wrapped up. It’s the kind of dry humor that makes Travis such a compelling personality off the field, and it’s the type of candid moment that makes Kylie’s podcast such a draw for fans who want to see the man behind the helmet.
The shoulder, at least, is doing great. Silver linings.
Uncle Travis and the ‘Anti-Gravity’ Nieces
The heart of the episode centered on the hilarious dynamic between Travis and the four daughters he shares with his brother Jason’s family. Kylie shares four daughters with husband Jason Kelce — Wyatt, 6, Elliotte, 4, Bennett, 2, and Finn, 10 months — and the picture she painted of what happens when Uncle Travis walks through the door is genuinely delightful.
“Air time. They want to be anti-gravity,” Travis shared. “They want to be in the air flying, just acting as planes.”
If you’ve ever watched Travis Kelce celebrate a touchdown with the unbridled energy of a man who truly loves what he does, you can probably picture exactly what this looks like: a 6-foot-5 NFL tight end launching small children skyward while they squeal with joy. It tracks.
Kylie broke it down even further with the kind of specificity only a mom juggling four kids under seven can provide.
“All of the kids are…well, Bennett thinks your legs don’t work. That’s ridiculous, right?” the 33-year-old joked to her brother-in-law. “And the big girls are like, ‘You can throw us for seven hours straight.’”
Two-year-old Bennett apparently believes Travis’s legs are nonfunctional — a genuinely hilarious image — while the older girls treat him like a human roller coaster with no closing time. Though Travis didn’t share when this playful habit started, Kylie admitted she loves how comfortable her little ones are around him and Taylor, 35.
Kylie on What Makes Travis ‘The Best Uncle’
Beyond the laughs, Kylie took a moment to genuinely praise Travis for the way he shows up for her daughters. It’s the kind of family dynamic that makes the Kelce clan so easy to root for.
“You come in and give them your undivided attention,” she recalled. “You get down on the floor with them and you play whatever they ask you to play. You really engage with them in a way that, and I think you already know this because you do it, they don’t care what you bring.”
She continued: “You can bring candies and toys and that’s all fine. But what they’re the most excited about is getting thrown around.”
Travis and Taylor, 35, got engaged last August, and Kylie shared her reaction in a Not Gonna Lie Episode in September 2025.
“I am so incredibly happy for them. We are so excited that they are taking this next step,” Kylie shared of the engagement. “The girls are so excited to get another aunt,” she continued, referring to the daughters. “I am so truly happy for them, and I feel so grateful that we get to welcome Taylor into our family in a more official capacity.”
But Kylie also addressed something that had been simmering in the fan discourse — the chatter from fans questioning her lack of a public message congratulating the couple. Her explanation was refreshingly direct and honestly something more public figures could learn from.
“You have a relationship personally with them that no one else is involved in because it’s your relationship,” she explained. “And so I don’t need to come out here and make statements when I already talked to them.”
She doubled down later in the podcast: “It’s our private relationship. So that’s my brother-in-law, Travis, and my soon to be sister-in-law, Taylor, and so I don’t need to talk about them all the time.”
