Watch As Tom Homan Shuts Down Fake News Attack on ICE
Tom Homan has to be one of the best picks as far as cabinet members, advisers, and staff, of President Trump’s second term. Under his watch, the borders have closed, illegal immigration has slowed to a trickle, and that wasn’t an easy task after the torrent of illegal entries under Joe Biden.
Mr. Homan doesn’t hesitate to go head-to-head with the press, either. On Sunday, he appeared on CBS News’ Meet the Press, opposite host Margaret Brennan, and when the “gotcha” questions started, Tom Homan showed he just wasn’t having any of it.

Here’s how that conversation went:
Margaret Brennan: These individuals who were chasing the man who died, they didn’t have markings on that vehicle that would allow for him to know that they were ICE. It just looked like a car coming after them.
Tom Homan: No. They have emergency lights, officers have insignia, so when they get out of that car and approach the car, you can clearly see they are law enforcement officers.
Margaret Brennan: Well, in the video that has been public, it’s not a (inaudible).
Tom Homan: These people… I’m not saying it’s a marked car. But it has emergency lights and sirens. So when they pull someone over, they activate emergency lights. A lot of police departments are… I’m in New York City right now, and a lot of NYPD officers are driving unmarked vehicles, and that helps them find people that don’t want to be found. Right? So, you know, the bottom line is, we’ll see how the investigation plays out, but they’d be alive today if they had simply complied with a vehicle stop by federal law enforcement. Just comply. If you don’t think you’ve been treated right, and they had no reason to stop you, then there are avenues to take in the court.
This, as Mr. Homan refers to it, is a case still under investigation. But he makes a good point: Resisting law enforcement rarely ends well for the resister, and too many cops, federal and local, have faced weaponized motor vehicles lately; in that bright, red moment when words give way to action, it’s not surprising when a cop isn’t willing to give someone in a moving vehicle the benefit of the doubt.
Then, on body cameras, Mr. Homan expressed his support, and we might note that body camera footage has a history of protecting cops more than perps.

Tom Homan: Yeah, I think body cameras are the way to go. I think body cameras let the American people know what that officer sees when he takes that action.
Margaret Brennan: When will everyone get one?
Tom Homan: You can have a cell phone camera from a witness on the side, you can have a city camera, whatever, but I’m wanting the American people to see what that officer sees when he makes the decision to take some action. I think the American people need to see what that officer sees and hears. I think it’s important. And if you look at the data, body cameras actually exonerate agents more than they, you know, provide evidence of wrongdoing.
That’s how you deal with the legacy media.

What’s interesting is this: Tom Homan has been known to engage in some spats of anger, and of raising his voice. Given how he’s been treated by the legacy media, that’s sure understandable. But in this case, opposite Margaret Brennan, he handled things perfectly: Calm, reserved, all his facts marshaled; he looked as though he knew precisely where the line of questioning would go and was prepared to deal with it.
Meanwhile, under his watch, the border is still closed, and illegal aliens are still being caught and repatriated – and many are self-deporting.
That, folks, is how you do it.
