Trump Reveals Judge's Sinister Move Involving Barron's Graduation: 'He Won't Let Me Go'
Former President Donald Trump arrived at the Lower Manhattan courthouse Monday for the start of jury selection in his criminal trial. This marked the first criminal trial of a former U.S. president, who is also a presumptive nominee for the next election.
In a revealing speech today, Trump expressed his frustration after Judge Juan Merchan informed him that attending his son Barron’s high school graduation could lead to jail time. The order is part of greater restrictions imposed amidst ongoing legal battles against Trump.
“We had some amazing things happen today. As you know, my son has graduated from high school. And it looks like the judge will not let me go through the graduation of my son, who’s worked very, very hard,” Trump stated. He described the situation as a continuation of what he called a “scam trial” and a “political witch hunt.”
“It’s a scam trial. If you read all of the legal pundits, all of the legal scholars today, there’s not one that I see that said this is a case that should be brought or tried.” The former president also linked this prohibition to a critical upcoming event, adding, “In addition, as you know, next Thursday we’re before the United States Supreme Court on a very big hearing on immunity.”
The trial has already seen its share of drama; Judge Juan Merchan ruled that the controversial “Access Hollywood” tape, in which Trump made lewd comments about women, cannot be shown to jurors. However, testimony from individuals allegedly involved with Trump, including a model who claims to have had an affair with him, has been allowed. Prosecutors are also pushing for penalties against Trump for allegedly violating a gag order.

That’s exactly what they want.” The former president concluded his remarks by calling the situation “about election interference,” a claim he has made repeatedly in various contexts since the 2020 presidential election.
Several of Trump’s fundraising committees, including some that file reports only quarterly, will submit their first financial disclosures in months on Monday. Trump primarily raises money through joint fundraising committees like the Save America Joint Fundraising Committee, which garnered $129 million in 2023 and benefits both his campaign and his leadership PAC according to Politico.
A key detail to watch is how much these committees spend on fundraising efforts. For example, Trump’s primary small-dollar fundraising group spent $48 million on operations last year — 62 percent of its intake went to its affiliates, compared to 71 percent for President Joe Biden’s main committee the outlet reported.
Monday’s filings will also mark the debut reports from two new entities, the Trump 47 Committee and the Trump National Committee. These groups, which include Trump’s campaign and the Republican National Committee, can accept larger donations, potentially attracting significant contributions. Additionally, Saturday’s filings will provide more financial insights into Trump’s campaign, his leadership PAC, which has been paying millions in legal fees, and the main super PAC supporting him.
