DeSantis Suspends Campaign and Endorses Trump

In a much-anticipated move, Ron DeSantis suspended his Presidential campaign today. He endorsed Donald Trump.

It was announced from Tallahassee, I suppose, to remind people that he, Ron, is relevant somewhere. The suspension of the limping campaign was no surprise to anyone, probably even to him. I often thought he looked so insecure out there on the trail not only because he hated crowds, but also because he didn’t believe in himself. A whole lot of other people didn’t as well. In that, Ron DeSantis has found his majority.

Most believe that it should have happened a lot sooner, to save him and his supporters both money and face. They tried to the bitter (cold) end. FL officials even flew to IA to door-knock, which did nothing but raise the question of , “Who paid”??

DeSantis’s will find that his state has changed during his absence. The MAGA movement strengthened hyuugely. Political action groups like the Florida Republican Assembly (FRA), who had published a resolution asking their governor to return to his duties, have grown in both numbers and strength. Over 100 FRA members showed up in the state capital this past week, to a standing “O” from the Florida House in chambers.

Also, a number of Florida elected Reps, from both the Senate and the House, have moved over to support Donald Trump. As this Maga movement in Tallahassee grew, DeSantis said that “this kind of thing happens all the time. One legislator in NH, even abandoned Trump for DeGov! Can’t help wondering if their was an exchange of consideration for that, as there was with the Iowa evangelist Vanderfleet. Still, a majority of the Tallahassee government is formally in the camp of the Governor. Right now.

The people were not. Even before DeFibber broke his promise to fulfill his second term, Florida natives were restless. Their medical freedom legislation had been scammed and the election “integrity” bill forced the use of insecure machines — AND made hand-counts and audits illegal — despite many problems found in the voting systems leading up to the bill. The homeowners’ insurance crisis has continued, made even worse by a sneaky piece of legislation signed by DeSantis which gave homeowners a shorter period in which to file any litigate claims. Ron was always a “big business” guy when he was in Congress, and, I guess, some things just don’t change.

But, back to Tallahassee! The legislature is in session, now considering bills on a number of these, and other, key issues. They have some big problems with the proven insecurity of the Florida voting machinery, which has NOT been properly security- checked since 2004. ALSO – and I wonder if someone called Ron home on this one- his Sec. of State, Cord Byrd, has been caught in a couple of big ones concerning the integrity of Florida’s votes.

First, it has been revealed that the State Auditor General has been citing defects in Florida’s cyber security reviews WHICH HAVE BEEN COMPLETELY IGNORED, for over a decade.

Second, Byrd just stated, in the committee hearing on election integrity, Dec. 7, 2024, that he could do nothing about the possibility of illegals voting because he did not have the information which could verify citizenship. In reality, in 2012 thestate of Florida signed an agreement with DHS, for the “Save System” which is a check for welfare recipients, who must be US citizens. Florida election officials had just saved it but NEVER USED IT> let that sink in. Maria Matthews, Dir of Elections appointed by Bush in 2012 — the year FL got access to the DHS records — removed the citizenship check box on the drivers’ license applications. Right after DeSantis took office in 2019.

Since the unexpectedly early cessation of DeCampaign, I have to wonder if The Byrd has realized that he has flown into a plate glass window by stating on the record that there was no way he could know about illegals. Talk about shattering glass . . . only this wasn’t a ceiling, but a mess of shards that might come down over the heads of Tallahassee. Maybe DeLeader was called home to sweep up?

We do know that some of the money behind DeLittle guy’s run for grandeur came from some questionable sources – such as the owner of 1/3 of TikTok. Just hope that the DeSantis campaign tour bus – the one that blocked the handicapped spaces in IA – didn’t bring any of THAT stuff home to Florida.

Only time, and alert involved citizens, will tell.
