Inform Your Senators Deliberate Parenthood Should be Defunded Once more
As Americans prepare to mark the nation’s 250th anniversary on Independence Day, pro-life leader Frank Pavone is urging Congress to defund Planned Parenthood again.
Pavone is calling on Congress to renew a prohibition on Medicaid funding for the Planned Parenthood abortion business and the abortion industry before the ban expires on Independence Day.
Pavone, director of Priests for Life, said Americans will celebrate July 4 with gratitude and joy. But he noted that it is also the day when, according to law, the prohibition on the Medicaid funding of Planned Parenthood and the abortion industry expires.

“They receive in excess of half a billion dollars,” Pavone stated in a message to supporters.
He reminded pro-life Americans that last year the funding stopped on July 4 thanks to President Trump and the Republican Congress.
The prohibition on abortion funding now needs to be renewed, Pavone said.
Although Democrats in Congress want the abortion industry fully funded, Republicans can stop it again through the reconciliation process, which requires only a simple majority in the Senate rather than 60 votes.
“The very possibility of this is historic,” Pavone wrote. “Usually, a President will have one reconciliation bill sent to his desk, if that. But President Trump and the Republican Congress have already passed two of them, and are now working on the third.”
Pavone urged Americans to contact both of their U.S. senators and tell them to ensure that this third reconciliation bill ends the funding of the abortion industry.
“Whether this happens by July 4th or it takes a little longer, we need to get it done,” he said. “Please join your voice to ours today, and pass this email along to anyone else who may be interested.”
The effort comes as Planned Parenthood killed a record 434,450 unborn babies in 2025. That marks an 8% increase from the 402,230 abortions it reported the previous year.
The nation’s largest abortion company also received a record $832 million in taxpayer funding during the period, a 5% increase from the prior year, according to its newly released annual report titled “Care Continues. The numbers cover the fiscal year so they do not reflect the federal defunding from the bill President Donald Trump signed.
The report shows Planned Parenthood now ends more than 1,190 babies’ lives every day.
Over the past 25 years, Planned Parenthood has killed nearly 8 million babies in abortions while receiving more than $12.3 billion in taxpayer funds. During that same period, the organization provided only 331,000 prenatal care services.
