This is probably because most companies like to segment SEO and copywriting out in marketing teams. The other missing skill is link building, which plays a massive role in search engine optimization. One final skill that wasn’t mentioned much was UX (user experience) optimization. If you’re trying to land a high-paying SEO job, then you’ll definitely need to familiarize yourself with these skills.I also recommend learning:How SEO fits into the scope of broader business goalsThe infrastructure of organic search results (for example, SERP features and search intent)Data analysis, web analytics, and agency SEO tools like Google AnalyticsSEO analysis (understand how to diagnose performance)Project managementCommunication skillsAnd even how to work with account teams. It also helps to understand social media strategies, messaging strategies, and web design. In addition to that, here are the most common SEO job titles we found in New York:SEO Manager – Responsible for the overall success of the SEO team and will delegate work to team members.SEO Specialist – The person for executing SEO campaigns that involve keyword research, organizing keyword lists, technical SEO, on-page SEO, and other SEO actions.SEO Strategist – The individual responsible for creating the overarching SEO strategy.SEO Leader – This role is likely similar to that of an SEO strategist.SEO Consultant – Acts more as a strategist and advisor but doesn’t actually execute SEO activities. Some secondary titles we found throughout SEO job descriptions are project manager, social media manager, direct mail coordinator, e-commerce coordinator, digital marketing manager, and content marketing manager.Type of SEO Jobs in NYCIn New York City, most SEO jobs (66.9%) are full-time.Part-time opportunities also make up a significant part, accounting for 33.1% of the market.Regarding the work environment, most positions (72.8%) are on-site. For example, many companies have office locations in NYC and Brooklyn, NY.But we were careful because some listings say they’re in New York, but we found many actually to be located in New Jersey.Still, there are options for hybrid (20.4%) and fully remote (6.7%) roles for those seeking flexibility.ConclusionNew York’s SEO job market offers great salaries and wants bachelor’s degrees and versatile marketing skills. When it comes to job types, full-time, on-site roles are popular, and some flexible work options are available. Also, almost every listing we studied said they were equal opportunity and wouldn’t discriminate based on marital status, sexual orientation, or national origin. One last note: if this seems overwhelming, you should consider getting an SEO career mentor or learning an SEO training curriculum like Gotch SEO Academy. You may also like:
