Satanic Temple Video Shows Woman Doing Abortion Ritual in Hobby Lobby Bathroom

A band tied to The Satanic Temple released a music video this week that depicts a woman carrying out the group’s “abortion ritual” in a Hobby Lobby women’s restroom and supposedly flushing her baby down the toilet.

The clip was posted Wednesday on YouTube for the song “Sam Alito’s Mom” by Satanic Planet, a band that includes Satanic Temple co-founder Lucien Greaves.

The video shows a simulated satanic ritual inside the Christian-owned store. After taking abortifacient drugs, the woman sits on the toilet and flushes her baby. She then turns to the mirror and says, “By my body, my blood, by my will, it is done.”

Since the abortion pill doesn’t work instantly but requires time for the pill to starve the baby to death and a second pill to potentially cause contractions to expel the baby’s body, it’s highlight unlikely the “abortion is anything other than performative.

The video describes the act as “a destruction ritual that serves as a protective rite.” Its stated purpose is to cast off guilt and “empower the patient against those with theocratic religious convictions.”

The video ends with Christian goods sold at Hobby Lobby on fire, including an image of Jesus with children, Scripture plaques, a “One Nation Under God” sign, and a cross marked with faith, hope and love.

The production does not hide what it is celebrating: an abortion presented as a rite and an unborn child discarded.

The song title points to the group’s online abortion project. According to The Satanic Temple, the clinic offers dangerous abortion pills by mail in New Mexico to people who want to perform its Religious Abortion Ritual. The ritual text tells participants to look at their reflection and affirm their own will before a drug-induced abortion.

Greaves tied the song to a plan to spread abortion nationwide.

In the official YouTube description he wrote: “In an effort to preserve reproductive rights in the face of theocratic opposition, The Satanic Temple has opened three abortion clinics and is currently working toward opening a fourth. We named the first of our clinics ‘Sam Alito’s Mom’s Satanic Abortion Clinic,’ and following the opening of the fourth clinic, we are going to sue to establish our religious freedom to ship abortion pharmaceuticals to any state in the U.S. regardless of their restrictions on bodily autonomy. This is our fight, and this is our song about that fight.”

The Satanic Temple claims more than 1.5 million members worldwide. Its mission statement says the group exists to “encourage benevolence and empathy among all people, reject tyrannical authority, advocate practical common sense, oppose injustice, and undertake noble pursuits” even as it promotes killing babies.
