Deliberate Parenthood Clinic Injures One other Girl in Botched Abortion
Only three short months after Near North Planned Parenthood callously discarded a woman into the streets of Chicago following an abortion procedure – much in the same way they callously discard preborn babies – yet another woman has been left injured after a botched abortion.
When a 33-year-old female patient entered the Near North Planned Parenthood located at 1200 N LaSalle St in Chicago, she likely never thought the appointment to end the life of her preborn baby would also end with her sustaining a perforated uterus.

“Women who enter these abortion mills to tragically end the life of their child often don’t realize their life may meet a tragic end as well,” says Troy Newman, President of Operation Rescue. “This is what we’re seeing at multiple clinics across the state of Illinois. These women are being told abortion is safe while clinics go unregulated and continue to butcher these women and their babies.”
Public records obtained by Pro-Life Action League and shared with Operation Rescue reveal that on February 19, two different phone calls from Planned Parenthood were made by two individuals requesting emergency transport for a patient whose uterus was perforated during an abortion procedure.
The first call was made around 3:18 PM by a staffer who seemed hardly aware of why he was calling 911. When dispatch asked for the nature of the emergency, he could only offer, “I believe one of our patients is hemorrhaging in our abortion room…” When asked the age of the patient, neither the caller nor another employee he questioned in the background could offer any patient information. Even when asked if the patient had already had the abortion, he could only respond, “I’m unsure.” What he did seem to know is that they needed paramedics “as soon as possible.”
The second call came through dispatch only a few seconds later from yet another Planned Parenthood employee who seemed unsure of the seriousness of the injury. The confusion on the call was immediate. Rather than clearly communicating the nature of the emergency, the caller turned to another nearby staffer asking if the patient was bleeding, only for a second voice to interject with the far more serious reality: “Perforated.”
The alarming nature of these calls raises an unsettling question: were there two women injured inside the facility at nearly the same time, or was there one gravely injured patient while Planned Parenthood staff descended into confusion?
If it was one patient, the implications are still deeply troubling. It would suggest that staff failed to communicate, coordinate, and implement a coherent emergency response while a woman’s life hung in the balance. If two patients were injured, the reality is even more horrifying.
While it is possible this incident involved one injured woman and an uncoordinated staff that unnecessarily tied up multiple emergency responders, the possibility that two women were suffering medical crises inside the same abortion facility cannot be entirely dismissed.
As Operation Rescue reported last week, this incident is one of several recently reported to the OR investigative team, all representing a rash of abortion injuries across the city of Chicago. Just weeks before this incident, another woman suffered a collapsed lung after an abortion at Family Planning Associates.
“Operation Rescue is not done reporting on this string of abortion emergencies,” says Sarah Neely, Operation Rescue COO. “And each one should be raising the alarm among the same state officials who are allowing Illinois clinics to go unregulated and unlicensed, while women like this one pay the price.”
Troy Newman adds, “These are not rare anomalies. These are not unfortunate one-offs. These are the predictable consequences of an abortion industry permitted to function behind closed doors without licensure, without regulation, and without accountability. Illinois has become an abortion devastation, and it is only a matter of time before these abortion injuries begin escalating to patient deaths.”
