Pete Buttigieg Forgets Vital Reality Whereas Advocating for Abolishing the Electoral Faculty
Pete Buttigieg thinks of himself as a really clever guy.
Unfortunately, he recently proved to America that he definitely isn’t the brightest tool in the shed…
While speaking at a recent townhall event in Tulsa, OK, Buttigieg called for a major change to federal elections that Democrats have been pushing for quite some time — abolishing the electoral college.
“One thing that would make a huge difference is if we selected our president by letting the person who got the most votes take the office, instead of the national Electoral College,” Buttigieg said as the crowd cheered him on.

There’s just one tiny detail that Pete Buttigieg apparently forgot…
In actuality, abolishing the Electoral College would not have made a “huge difference” during the last presidential election.
Donald Trump would still be president, even if we had gotten rid of the Electoral College before the 2024 election.
As you may remember, President Trump won the popular vote against Kamala Harris by around two million, becoming the first Republican to pull off that historic feat in two decades!
Folks on X are sharing the inconvenient truth with Pete:
🚨 LMFAO! Pete Buttigieg is being mercilessly MOCKED nationwide for saying this: “What if we selected our president by letting the person who got the most votes take office, instead of the Electoral College?”
Donald J. Trump would still be your president, check the scoreboard 🤣… pic.twitter.com/I4sk2wVSxp

Pete Buttigieg thinks everyone is so stupid that they don’t know who won the popular vote as well as the electoral college in 2024.
It was President Donald Trump, https://t.co/NMaQteoGFX pic.twitter.com/dCHmoM3RMv

That’s exactly how Trump was elected! He won the popular vote.

Then Trump would still be your president dummy.

Hey @PeteButtigieg
President Trump won both in the last election. The electoral college is going nowhere, unless democrats need to abolish it to cheat. It’s the only way they’ll win elections. https://t.co/1bQ4a8WzLv

How embarrassing for Mayor Pete.
By the way, getting rid of the Electoral College would be an extremely dumb move.
It was included by our Founding Fathers for a very important reason: ensuring that everyone in our nation gets representation.
The only reason that Democrats want to get rid of it is to cheat by disenfranchising voters in smaller states — like Indiana, where Pete Buttigieg is from.
This X user brilliantly pointed out the hypocrisy there:
Donald Trump won the popular vote in 2024. Trump would be the POTUS under this scenario. Also, the Electoral College helps people in Indiana (where Pete is from) have a say much like folks in large cities where candidates would only campaign under a pop vote scenario. https://t.co/0Rze9U0P6c
