James Talarico Authored Amendment for “Right” to Kill Babies in Abortions

0

I’ve not written nearly as much as I probably should’ve about James Talarico, the pro-abortion Democrat running for the Senate in Texas against pro-life Republican Ken Paxton, the state’s attorney general. With the Senate races incredibly tight across the nation, this one may be as close as any and is pivotal to keeping control of the Senate out of the hands of the manically pro-abortion Democrat party.

Talarico has taken positions on issues not directly connected to pro-lifers that are, shall we say, odd at best. On abortion, however, he has accrued an almost unblemished pro-abortion record while serving as a member of the Texas House of Representatives since 2019.

I’ve reposted Texas Right to Life’s “James Talarico’s Abortion Record.”  Brought together in one place, his commitment to abortion is devasting. Here are just a few highlights/lowlights.

* During his time in office, he has repeatedly voted against efforts to save babies, support pregnant women, and stop taxpayer dollars from being used for abortion.

* That same year [2025], he also authored a proposed constitutional amendment that would have created a “right” to abortion in Texas.

*Talarico’s Pro-Life scorecard remained near zero throughout his time in the Texas House:

2019: 0%

2021: 5%

2023: 15%

2025: 0%

Texas Right to Life’s conclusion?

The bottom line: Talarico’s votes would kill unborn babies and make it harder for women to choose Life.

Texans deserve to know exactly what their elected officials have done.

James Talarico’s record is clear: when given opportunities to save babies, help mothers, and stop taxpayer dollars from supporting abortion, he repeatedly chose the other side.

Now a quick pivot to talk about the latest overviews on Senate elections. Writing yesterday in the Washington Stand, Mark Tapscott headlines his story “Turnout Surge among GOP Seniors Could Be Midterm’s Biggest Surprise.”

Tapscott begins

Voter enthusiasm surveys are showing signs of a gathering “Silver Wave” of older voters surging to the polls on November 3 for the 2026 midterm elections and voting in greater numbers for Republican candidates than they have in recent years, according to GOP pollster and campaign strategist Matt Towery.

Combined with the traditional huge drop-off in the number of younger voters aged 18 to 39 in midterm contests, who are among the Democratic Party’s most loyal supporters, the Silver Wave could mean a bunch of Democratic congressional candidates now making relocation plans to the nation’s capital after the election could be in for an unexpected surprise.

In an October 12 video post on X, Towery elaborated on comments he’d made earlier in the day on Sean Hannity’s radio show

The Silver Wave, right now, I am seeing in poll after poll after poll. The 18-39 years old crowd, who are supposed to be dying to turn out to vote to turn everything upside down, they are about 30 points less enthusiastic about voting than the 65 years old and over, who are the most enthusiastic and for the first time in three election cycles are going for Republicans in droves.

Tapscott then offers another quote from the Video Post on X:

I work with people like Robert Kahaly at Trafalgar Group, the folks over at Rasmussen, others. They’ve gotten it right in 2016, 2020, 2024. In 2022, we got hit a little bit because we believed what the national media was telling us, it was a wave for the Republicans. But it turned out not to be true. All the big fancy pollsters were the ones who said that Red Wave was coming, but it fell apart at the end. But this time, we are watching very carefully because once again, they have a Blue Wave that is massive. But we’re not so sure it’s going to be so massive.

Finally, Tapscott tells his readers that there is “There is concrete evidence of GOP strength among older likely voters in four of the most-watched Senate races, according to surveys conducted in the past two weeks by the Trafalgar Group.”

For example,

In the hotly contested Texas Senate campaign, Republican Ken Paxton was favored in an October 6-8 poll by 60.8% of those surveyed, compared to just 29.8% for Democrat James Talarico. In Michigan, Republican Mike Rogers got 52.5% of the older voters, compared to 44.2% for Democrat Abdul El-Sayed.

Of course, none of this can predict what the actual turnout will be, either among younger voters or older voters. But these poll figures are encouraging, especially from Robert Kahaly at Trafalgar Group. Kahaly has built a solid reputation for accuracy.

Talk to you Monday. If you have a chance and the opportunity, vote this weekend. You never know what unforeseen circumstance can crop up on November 3.
