Jack Nicholson Celebrates 89th Birthday in Uncommon Picture With Joni Mitchell

Jack Nicholson spent his birthday with a few good women. 

The A Few Good Men star—who has largely kept away from the spotlight over the past decade—rang in his 89th birthday with his daughter Lorraine Nicholson and his longtime friend Joni Mitchell. 

Lorraine, whom Jack shares with ex Rebecca Broussard, shared a rare glimpse of her dad in an April 23 Instagram Story post, writing, “89!!”

In the pic, Jack—also dad to Jennifer Nicholson, 62, Caleb Goddard, 55, Honey Hollman, 43, Ray Nicholson, 33, and Tessa Gourin, 31—is seen in high spirits, smiling and clapping alongside Joni. 

Indeed, the The Shining actor has led a private life since his last role in 2010’s How Do You Know. Though he made a rare return to the industry during SNL 50: The Anniversary Special to introduce Adam Sandler.

Lorraine recently revealed her dad’s reluctance in participating in the show’s milestone, telling W Magazine on March 27 that Lorne Michaels is “a very close friend of ours, and it was important to him that my dad made it to this event. But my dad also has a lot of hesitation about appearing in public now, so it was a real battle.”
