CAPITOL CCTV EXONERATES BRIAN COLE JR. IN J6 PIPE BOMB CASE
Steve Baker says newly surfaced footage places Cole on the Capitol’s northwest side while the government’s pipe-bomb suspect was on the southeast side.
Newly surfaced Capitol CCTV exonerates Brian Cole Jr. in the January 6 pipe-bomb case, according to investigative reporter Steve Baker’s review of the footage.
In an Oct. 18 evidence post, Baker said the video places Cole on the Capitol’s northwest side at the exact time the person who placed the devices was on the southeast side.
“He is seen walking on the northwest side of the Capitol at EXACTLY THE SAME TIME as the real suspect was distributing devices on the southeast side of the Capitol.” — Steve Baker
Baker’s evidence thread identifies the CCTV subject as Cole through details his family provided: a patterned maroon-and-gold mask, size 12-D New Balance shoes worn down at the heels, and a jacket his grandmother said she gave him for Christmas.

Baker and Liberty Lockdown host Clint Russell break down the footage and FBI-interrogation material below.
The Justice Department alleges Cole placed two devices outside the RNC and DNC on Jan. 5, 2021. Its case cites component purchases, a plate-reader sighting, and cell-tower records. DOJ describes the device placer as wearing Nike Air Max Speed Turf shoes, a gray hoodie, dark gloves, a face covering, eyeglasses, and a backpack.
Former national security adviser Mike Flynn said the footage demands answers from FBI Director Kash Patel and DOJ leaders.
