Sanctuary city honeymoons continue to end as one deep blue city has put its freeloading illegal aliens on notice in the middle of winter.

While President Joe Biden endeavors to deflect responsibility and Republican governors have put their weight behind Texas to keep that from happening, the millions of foreign nationals that have entered the country illegally during his administration have continued to drain resources on the taxpayer’s dime.

Unlike New York City’s Mayor Eric Adams (D) who has garnered considerable attention shuffling aliens throughout the five boroughs and begging the federal government for billions, Denver, Colorado is setting a six-week cap for shelters with some of the reported 40,000 illegals there getting the boot at the beginning of next month.

NBC News reported that come Feb. 5 in the Mile-High City which more than 700,000 call home, officials “will limit the number of days migrants can stay in shelters and send those who exceed their stay out onto the streets.”

The outlet spoke with one Venezuelan family of five that had been staying in a hotel and the mother of three daughters lamented, “Just yesterday they started throwing away the toys, the bicycles in the common area. We don’t know where we will go next.”

Shelters weren’t the only facilities having their resources drained as Denver Mayor Mike Johnston (D) estimated a bill of over $100 million to keep up with the costs of illegals, and hospitals and schools reported being overwhelmed.

Adrienne Endres who runs the school district’s multilingual education told NBC News that nearly 3,000 alien children, primarily from Venezuela, have entered the Denver Public School system since July 2023.

“We’ve gotten a lot of new kids really quickly, with a lot of needs. It’s been getting creative in a lot of spaces. It’s been bringing a lot of other departments in. And it’s been an adventure that we’re glad to be on,” she said to positively spin the reality that classrooms had reached their maximum capacity forcing students to be transferred to other schools, limiting the quality of education available to American students.

Meanwhile, Dr. Steven Federico, pediatrician and chief of government and community affairs at Denver Health, had reportedly reached out to state and federal agencies in search of help. “I think it’s been an unheeded call so far in terms of who’s going to be responsible for the health care of this population.”

“In the meantime, it falls on safety net hospitals like Denver Health,” he said. Similarly, pediatrician Dr. Kristi Rodrigues detailed an increase in cases of chickenpox and parasites at the hospital.

Not only has the crisis impacted native citizens, but it has also been a detriment to those who used the proper channels to become Americans, including Tip Cordova, who had told The Denver Gazette how the alien encampments had hampered her business by about 50 percent.

“I want to cry right now,” the Shell gas station owner said. “I can’t take it anymore.”
