Bill Maher excoriates Stormy Daniels with her own words: 'I just think she's not a good witness'

Liberal comedian Bill Maher slammed former porn star Stormy Daniels’ “bad” testimony during the latest episode of his HBO show.

“She’s a bad witness!” he declared Friday on HBO’s “Real Time,” according to Fox News.

To prove his point, he played a clip from the time he interviewed Daniels in 2018. During that interview, Daniels was adamant that her case against former President Donald Trump wasn’t a “MeToo” type case.

“It’s not a MeToo case,” she said. “I wasn’t assaulted. I wasn’t attacked, or raped, or coerced or blackmailed. … They tried to shove me in the MeToo box to further their own agenda. And first of all, I didn’t want to be part of that because it’s not the truth and I’m not a victim in that regard.”

But years later, she’s now singing a different tune, according to Maher.

“That’s not what she’s saying now,” Maher said Friday. “She’s talking about ‘he was bigger and blocking the way.’ It’s all the MeToo buzzwords. She said, ‘There was an imbalance of power for sure.’ ‘My hands were shaking so hard.’”

“She said she blacked out. Blacked out? She’s a porn star! … Do you really think she blacked out? A porn star is used to having sex with people she doesn’t [like]. … I just think she’s not a good witness,” he added.

Could write an entire thesis on this cross-exam of Stormy Daniels. We’ve heard Daniels couldn’t have been intimidated by Trump b/c she worked in porn/was good at making up “phony stories” about sex. It’s a stark throwback to an earlier, pre-“Me Too” time and the day is not done.

This marks a 180 for Maher. Two weeks ago, he was excited about the trial.

“This one, I got to say I was always against [it] because I thought of all the ones you’re bringing, this is the least serious,” he said. “Now I think Trump could lose. I’m turning on this one because it’s not what I thought it was going to be. And this David Pecker – I mean, brought down by a Pecker, this guy.”

“And by the way, if this goes that way and Trump loses, it’s going to change the whole election. A number of independents, a significant number, and Republicans say their vote will change if he is a convicted criminal. And he’ll look like a loser, not that he doesn’t already, but you know,” he added.

That said, Maher isn’t the only one to express skepticism about Daniels’ testimony. So has conservative commentator Megyn Kelly.

“The thing about Stormy is, what shocked me the most is she completely revised her account of the interlude [with Trump],” she said Wednesday on her popular podcast.

“It went from this casual description back when she first came out with it publicly of ‘he was interesting and he was nice’… to ‘I blacked out… the blood left my fingers and toes,’” she continued.

She continued by questioning the contradictions in the remarks made by the former porn star, saying “the room was spinning and he was stopping me from getting out because he was sitting on the bed between me exiting the bathroom and the door, but in a non-threatening manner, and oh, by the way, I didn’t say no.”

“It’s a bullsh-t #MeToo revisionism and everyone’s buying it!” she added.

Trump has for his part stuck to his story that he never had sex with Daniels and that the money that was paid out was meant to be “used to stop the false and extortionist accusations made by her about an affair.”

So who will the jury believe? It could depend on what two specific potential witnesses might say on the stand.

“One is Trump’s longtime and ubiquitous bodyguard Keith Schiller,” according to USA Today. “Daniels has claimed in testimony that the former New York City cop approached her at a golf charity event on Lake Tahoe right after she met Trump ‘in the gift room where celebrities would come through.’ Schiller said Trump wanted to have dinner with Daniels and he allegedly helped facilitate her visit to Trump’s hotel suite, where the two had sex.”

“The other is Alana Evans, a retired porn actress and friend of Daniels, who says she ran into Daniels in Lake Tahoe and that Daniels invited her to join her and Trump for dinner at his lavish hotel suite,” USA Today notes.
