America’s Oldest Arts College Announces Closure Amid Challenges

The Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts is permanently closing its doors at the end of the next academic year due to rising costs and declining enrollment. Founded in 1805, it is the oldest private art college and museum in the nation. While its museum will continue operations, the school will no longer offer bachelor’s and master’s degrees.
