Drop Site News reports a classified CIA Red Cell assessment warned that war, conscription revolt, economic strain, and Netanyahu’s constitutional fight could break the state from within.
Washington has poured weapons, money, and political cover into Israel’s wars. Now, according to a reported CIA assessment, the state itself may be nearing a violent internal break.
Drop Site News reported that the CIA’s Red Cell produced an August assessment, “Fracture From Within,” warning that Israel could slide toward civil conflict or state collapse. The report cited two U.S. sources who described the classified assessment. The CIA did not respond to its request for comment.
The reported warning identified political fracture, economic pressure, heavily armed veterans returning from prolonged war, settler violence, and rage over ultra-Orthodox military exemptions.

The fractures are not speculative. The Associated Press reported that Israel’s parliament passed laws protecting broad ultra-Orthodox exemptions even as the military confronts troop shortages. Of roughly 13,000 ultra-Orthodox men reaching draft age each year, fewer than 10% enlist.
Netanyahu also heads into the Oct. 27 election with a revived judicial overhaul aimed at remaking the Supreme Court. JTA reported that the plan could strip institutional checks and trigger a constitutional showdown.
