Lil Nas X Mourns Death of Mom Tameka Hill

Lil Nas X is navigating a devastating loss.

The “INDUSTRY BABY” hitmaker shared that his mother Tameka Hill has died in a touching tribute Aug. 29. 

“RIP TO THE BADDEST EVER!” Lil Nas X wrote on Instagram Aug. 29 alongside photos of his late mom. “LOVE U FOREVER MOMMY. this one’s gonna hurt.”

In his post, the 27-year-old (born Montero Lamar Hill) honored his mom by sharing memorable photos, including a throwback shot of Hill wearing a patterned blue two-piece set.

While Lil Nas X and Hill’s relationship was somewhat rocky over the years, he looked back at the good times, sharing a mother-son pic of them dressed up in coordinating silver and black outfits and sunglasses, along with a grainy image of himself as a young boy posing with his mom.

Although the “Old Town Road” rapper didn’t disclose any further details regarding his mom’s death, he’s shared insight into their complex relationship, including how Hill’s struggle with addiction had a toll on their bond.
