Just when you thought the “climate crowd” couldn’t find anything else to blame on man-made climate change, they have found a way to top themselves. Some left-wing scientists now claim that warming global temperatures are leading to a rise in food-borne illnesses like the current cyclospora outbreak, which has led to increased cases of the intestinal, diarrhea-causing virus across several states. But apparently these climate scientists forgot to check with actual medical experts. Former White House medical advisor Dr. Deborah Birx was asked on Newsmax about the climate theory, and dismissed it rather quickly. “That is a bit of a reach, because this particular parasite comes from human feces, from bowel movements, and then contamination of water,” she said.
“It comes from humans, and human poop,” she continued.
Marc Morano, editor of the Climate Depot, agrees that the climate-is-causing-cyclospora theory is a load of…poop. “Their premise is that warmer weather causes more diseases, and if we don’t stop the warmer weather through fighting climate change, we’re going to have more diseases,” he tells KTRH. “That has absolutely nothing to do with it.”
Perhaps the climate crowd is growing desperate, since their hysterical claims are falling on more deaf ears. A survey last year found most Americans don’t consider climate change a priority, while last year also saw the fewest extreme weather deaths in history.
Still, Morano warns climate activists won’t give up their crusade. “This is the same dance routine they do all the time,” he says. “They use it for political lobbying purposes, and they use whatever bad event or perceived bad event to blame on climate change and say ‘look what we caused, we warned you.’
“It’s all intended to keep climate in the news, to try to influence the gullible and get them scared so they’ll go along with the agenda.”
