Florida is the home of the sinkhole, but earlier this year, Omaha, Nebraska shocked the nation with video showing a lightning-quick sinkhole form under road traffic.
KETV news in Omaha showed video of the incident and interviewed a driver whose car was swallowed by it. (See video below.)
While the sinkhole was scary, no one was hurt.
On the Florida front, earlier this year, a 50-foot sinkhole developed in Groveland, near Orlando, across a two-lane road. An estimated 1400 cars / day were affected by the road closure. (See video below.)
Also, even interstate highway I-4 faced sinkhole madness, after a depression formed affecting one lane. (See video below.)
Last month, another sinkhole ended up on TV news, this time in Maitland, north of Orlando.
One woman was interviewed; she drove into the Maitland sinkhole at midnight but wasn’t injured.
