FBI Raids VA Dem Chief’s Workplace As Half Of Corruption Probe
The FBI raided the office of Virginia’s Democrat Senate president pro tempore on Wednesday as part of what sources reportedly say is a “major corruption probe.”
According to Fox News’ Bill Melugin, the federal agency executed “multiple search warrants” approved by a federal judge against the Portsmouth office of Democrat state Sen. Louise Lucas and an adjacent “cannabis dispensary.” The raid is “in connection to a major corruption probe,” according to law enforcement officials who spoke with Melugin.
Fox News’ Alex Hogan separately reported from the scene that “at least three people” at the cannabis dispensary “were taken into custody” as part of Wednesday’s operations. Upon arriving at the scene, Lucas reportedly told Hogan that “she had no idea” what the FBI was doing there.
“At least 10 locations” were being “looked at” as part of Wednesday’s operations, according to law enforcement officials who spoke with Hogan.
The FBI confirmed its law enforcement activities in a statement following the raid. The federal agency said, “The FBI is executing a court-authorized federal search warrant in Portsmouth, VA. There is no threat to public safety. This is an ongoing investigation, and no further information is publicly available at this time.”
While the investigation remains ongoing, Lucas’ ties to the cannabis industry are no secret to Virginia residents.
As noted by Fox, the state Democrat leader is the “co-owner of a cannabis business” that has previously “faced scrutiny after an investigation reported that some products were allegedly mislabeled or exceeded legal THC limits, raising regulatory concerns under Virginia law.” She also sponsored a law signed by then-Democrat Gov. Ralph Northam legalizing possession and growing of marijuana in the commonwealth in 2021.
Aside from her radical left-wing politics, Lucas is widely known for her crude and vulgar commentary on social media.
In December 2024, the Democrat state senator issued an ominous tweet saying that “People will pay for voting Republican,” and accusing X owner Elon Musk of buying “the election for [Donald Trump].” A few months prior, she tweeted in part, “Donald Trump has sh-t for brains and it oozes out of his mouth.”
“Trump is a lying -ss clown and Kamala is tearing him to shreds. We are getting big momentum out of this debate tonight!” Lucas wrote seemingly in response to Trump and Harris’ 2024 presidential debate.
Lucas has even directed her theatrics at her fellow Democrats.
Earlier this year, for instance, she took a shot at U.S. Sens. Mark Warner and Tim Kaine, D-Va., for their “coaching” on efforts to gerrymander the state in Democrats’ favor.
“I have the utmost respect for Senator Kaine and Senator Warner but we do not need ‘coaching’ on redistricting coming from a c-ck chair in the corner,” Lucas wrote. “How about you all stay focused on the fascist in the White House and let us handle redistricting in Virginia. 10-1.”
