Iran Targets Key U.A.E. Oil Hub, Strait Of Hormuz Tensions Escalate – Journal Posts
Iran has launched missile and drone strikes targeting the United Arab Emirates, hitting the critical oil hub at Fujairah and igniting a fire at the facility, a key route used to bypass the Strait of Hormuz. U.A.E. officials said the attack also involved strikes on multiple vessels and warned of a “full and legitimate response.”
U.S. forces reported further escalation at sea, with Iranian cruise missiles and other projectiles fired toward American warships and commercial vessels transiting the region. U.S. Central Command confirmed it has begun escort operations through the strait, successfully guiding two U.S.-flagged ships, with additional vessels now en route.
President Trump issued a warning to Iran against targeting U.S. ships in the vital waterway, signaling potential consequences if attacks continue.
The situation widened after Iran also fired on a South Korean cargo vessel, prompting Trump to call on South Korea to assist in securing the Strait of Hormuz.
