Miami, Florida — A highly dangerous rescue of a pilot took place inside Iran. An American plane aircraft was bombing Iran, but it was shot down, which left the pilot with bruises and unconscious. When he regained consciousness, he was able to communicate and report his location. In an extraordinary operation, he was rescued and the plane was destroyed to prevent the Iranians from reverse-engineering whatever remained. The United States Armed Forces are incredibly effective.
The United States returns to its days of glory with space travel. Artemis II departed from the Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral. Four astronauts (three Americans and one Canadian) are making a trip around the Moon, something that hadn’t happened in more than 50 years. The spacecraft returned safely and the mission was a great success.
The presentation of the Trump Presidential Library next to the Freedom Tower in downtown Miami has been widely applauded. A spectacular work by the brilliant Cuban architect Willy Bermello. There is talk that it may possibly have a 747 Air Force One in the lobby and perhaps a hotel as well. Without a doubt, it will be a major attraction for our city. Trump does not want the project to proceed until after his presidential term ends. We’ll see!
Last week, the vice mayor of Coral Springs, Nancy Metayer Bowen, was assassinated with three shots. Her husband, Stephen Bowen, was arrested for this cruel murder. Her body was found on the second floor of the house she shared with her killer. Very sad!
Now that Daniel’s Steakhouse in Coral Gables has been considered one of the best steak restaurants in the country, a new steak-specialty restaurant has emerged in Bal Harbour. It is Slims, under the Makoto umbrella. Apparently (we haven’t visited yet) it
is a magnificent place.
With great fanfare, Cuba announces that it will release more than 2,000 prisoners. It is not known whether they are common criminals or part of the 1,000 political prisoners held in Cuban jails after the peaceful protests that took place on the island. Well-known political prisoners such as Félix and Sally Navarro, the artist Luis Manuel Otero Alcántara, and the rapper Maykel Castillo will remain in prison despite international efforts on their behalf.
Job growth during the month of March was formidable and unemployment dropped surprisingly. The increase in manufacturing jobs was the strongest since the end of 2023. Unemployment currently stands at only 4.3% according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
Barack Obama’s former Chief of Staff, Rahm Emanuel, declared that the Democrats had lost “their compass,” and had lost “the respect of millions of Americans,” due to their ambiguous and overly leftist policies. He is visiting different states across the Union and there is suspicion he could be a presidential candidate in 2028. The Jihadist wing of the Democrat Party will probably not let him win the nomination.
King Charles III of the United Kingdom and his wife Camilla will visit the United States in response to an invitation from Trump. On Tuesday, April 28, he will make a presentation to the U.S. House and Senate that will be televised. An important visit by this odious twit!
Tiger Woods announced that he will not compete in the near future and will focus on resolving his health issues. A smart move for someone who is beloved and needs to address his physical limitations.
A federal judge ordered the suspension of the construction of the ballroom at the White House. Imagine that—the wonder being built is not with taxpayer money but with private donations. How ridiculous; I imagine it will be dismissed once the President’s lawyers make their arguments!
Pam Bondi, the Attorney General of the country, stepped down on Holy Thursday. Pam had done mostly an excellent job as Florida’s Attorney General, but as Attorney General for the United States, she became a victim of a country that spent many hours trying to revive the Epstein case. Bondi reduced crime in the country to its lowest level in 30 years and did not allow herself to be swayed by a corrupt media. Welcome back to Florida, Pam Bondi!
Javier Milei of Argentina expelled Iran’s representatives from his country, drawing closer to Donald Trump’s government.
