NEW: Feds Open Prison Probe After On-Digicam Assault Of Distinguished Conservative Journalist
The FBI has launched a criminal investigation after prominent conservative reporter Savannah Hernandez was assaulted by anti-U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agitators outside a federal building in Minnesota.
Hernandez was assaulted while filming demonstrations outside the Whipple ICE facility, also known as the Whipple Federal Building, in Minneapolis during an anti-ICE protest. Hernandez, a contributor to Turning Point USA, was recording B-roll of the demonstration on a public street when protesters confronted and surrounded her.
“I was just brutally assaulted by multiple people outside of the Whipple ICE facility in Minneapolis. Multiple people swung on me and a grown man pushed me to the ground,” Hernandez posted on X. “My glasses are broken. ANTIFA still alive and well. I’m talking with police about pressing charges.”
Footage from the scene shows multiple agitators striking Hernandez, including one man who forcefully pushed her to the ground from behind. “All of this because I was standing outside on a public street filming a protest in the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.”
Hernandez further identified one member of the crowd as William Kelly, a professional agitator who is currently facing charges in connection with the storming of a church in St. Paul. “This is the guy, William Scott Kelly, who incited the mob against me today. He identified me as I stood at the fence taking BROLL of the ICE facility at today’s protest. Apparently he’s the same guy who was arrested storming the church in Minneapolis back in January of this year,” Hernandez wrote in a follow-up post.
This is now the second time I have been mobbed and assaulted for filming a protest on U.S. streets.
Today these Minneapolis protesters were chanting that they were “ANTIFA” and proved it, by mobbing and beating me for reporting on a public protest: pic.twitter.com/EOhyg9AFME

I’m waking up with a headache and stiff neck this morning due to how violently anti-ICE activist, Chris Ostroushko, shoved me down yesterday.
A second angle shows that he had to be held back by 5 men as he continued to charge at me.

In response to the assault, Assistant Attorney General Harmeet Dhillon replied directly to one of Hernandez’s posts on X with the exact statement: “On it.” This reply has been interpreted as signaling federal involvement.
Dhillon previously said the same when Kelly and other agitators stormed the Cities Church back in January. Within weeks, several individuals had been arrested.
Local authorities also indicated that individuals involved with the on-camera assault would face state charges. Video footage shared by Hernandez showed one of the individuals — identified as Paige Ostroushko being arrested not long after the assault.
