NEW: US Places $10 MILLION Bounty on Excessive-Rating Cartel Brothers
The war on cartels being waged by President Trump just caught another gear.
U.S. officials have upgraded a previous indictment against two brothers charged with being high-ranking leaders within the dangerous Sinaloa Cartel.
The ‘superseding indictment’ hits the pair with a combined $10 MILLION in reward money — a whopping $5 MILLION each — for tips that lead to their capture or conviction.
The US Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of California handling the indictment shared this post, showing a photo of a weapons… drugs… and a Cartel shrine related to the case:

One of the US Attorney’s prosecuting the case against the brothers had this to say at a press conference detailing the upgraded indictment on Thursday:

Just to get an idea of the degree to which these guys are well-funded and well-armed…
Check out these images of the drugs and guns taken out of a bust associated with the brothers recently:

That’s a LOT of firepower!
And I don’t think these boys are all about ‘target practice’.
These drum magazines are the stuff of fantasy for most of the guys I know:

This… on the other hand…
This is enough poison to kill an untold number of Americans:

If the reports from the Justice Department are even fractionally true…
That’s only a drop in the bucket of what these brothers are playing with.
The leader, known as “La Rana”, and his high-ranking brother, nicknamed “Aquiles”, are considered to be very influential within the Sinaloa Cartel, as is being reported by Fox News:
Authorities recently announced a superseding indictment against Sinaloa Cartel Tijuana Plaza leader René “La Rana” Arzate-García and his brother, Alfonso “Aquiles” Arzate-García, for allegedly trafficking massive amounts of drugs into America.
The U.S. State Department is offering a reward of up to $5 million each for information leading to their arrests.
The Arzate-García brothers have jointly controlled the Tijuana Plaza for the Sinaloa Cartel for the past 15 years, maintaining authority through violence, strategic alliances and deep local influence, including political and police corruption, according to the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA).
Despite ongoing conflicts, authorities claim they continue to manage the critical trafficking corridor, making them key figures in sustaining cartel operations, including trafficking deadly illicit fentanyl, which was designated by the Trump administration as a “weapon of mass destruction,” into U.S. communities.
Court documents allege La Rana uses paramilitary fighters to patrol and control territory, as well as drones equipped with explosives to conduct surveillance.
Officials said his group also has an extensive collection of military grade and high-powered guns and weapons, including assault weapons and grenade launchers.
I have to wonder, with all the reports and murmurings of Cartel drones operating on the border lately — have these guys played a role in all that?
Is that why these brothers are now finding themselves “upgraded” on the priority stack?
Check out these wanted posters put out by the DOJ:

These guys essentially (…allegedly…) run the Sinaloa’s drug and enforcement operations along the far western southern border with Mexico.
As well as all sorts of violence — kidnappings and executions, according to the Department of Justice website:
“René Arzate-García has progressed up the ranks of the Sinaloa Cartel to become one of the most violent and prolific drug traffickers in the region,” said Acting Special Agent in Charge TJ Holland of the FBI San Diego Field Office. “Designated as a Foreign Terrorist Organization, the Sinaloa Cartel threatens our national security and the safety of our citizens. FBI San Diego, in coordination with our local, state, federal, and international law enforcement partners, will continue to aggressively investigate these transnational criminal organizations and their leaders targeting our neighborhoods with narcoterrorism and other criminal activity until they are eliminated from our communities.”
“To the leaders of the Sinaloa Cartel who remain at large: Hide. Run. Fight. Flee. The illusion is that you have a choice. The reality is that you can either surrender to justice or you’ll be brought to justice,” said U.S. Attorney Adam Gordon for the Southern District of California.
According to court documents, René Arzate-García is a Baja California, Mexico-based “plaza boss” for the Sinaloa Cartel, along with his brother Alfonso Arzate-García, also known as “Aquiles” (previously charged in case number 14-cr-00722-DMS). René Arzate-García manages the cartel’s drug trafficking operations in Tijuana and the surrounding municipalities and is involved in importing large quantities of illicit drugs, including fentanyl, cocaine, methamphetamine and marijuana, into the United States. Known to be extremely violent, Arzate-García is also involved in carrying out enforcement operations, such as kidnappings and executions, for the Sinaloa Cartel.
The superseding indictment is a direct result of President Trump’s Executive Order 14157 which designated the Sinaloa Cartel as a Foreign Terrorist Organization and the Secretary of State’s subsequent designation of the same on Feb. 20, 2025.
The fact that the DOJ on multiple levels along with the FBI are all hyper-fixated on these brothers in tandem seems to show they mean business.
It’s fairly evident they want these guys found, and captured — if possible — in a quick hurry.
There’s no word that I could find regarding the likely whereabouts of either, other than the general region of Baja California on the Mexican side of things.
Wherever they are, it’s a good bet that a spider hole in the middle of nowhere without any cell or Wi-Fi nearby probably sound like heaven at the moment.
Then again, last I checked…
Reaper drones don’t require any of that to track, lock on, or get down to business.
