Miami, Florida – Palantir Technologies Inc., the data analytics and software company, has moved its corporate headquarters to Miami, Florida, after approximately six years based in Denver, Colorado.

The company made the announcement today via a post on X (formerly Twitter), stating simply: “We have moved our headquarters to Miami, Florida.” A recent regulatory filing updated the company’s principal executive office address to a location in Aventura, a northern suburb of Miami.

Palantir, originally founded in Palo Alto, California, in 2003, first shifted its headquarters to Denver in 2020. CEO Alex Karp has previously expressed criticisms of certain aspects of Silicon Valley’s culture, noting in public statements that the company’s values diverged from those prevalent in the technology sector at the time.

The relocation aligns with a broader trend of businesses and high-profile individuals moving to South Florida. The region has attracted numerous executives and companies in recent years, drawn by Florida’s tax policies, which include no state income tax, and efforts by local leaders to position the area as an emerging center for technology and innovation.

Notable examples include hedge fund Citadel, now based in Miami, and expansions by companies such as ServiceNow in nearby West Palm Beach. Palantir co-founder Peter Thiel has also established a presence in the area, including opening an office for his investment firm in Miami.

As of late last year, Palantir reported having around 4,429 full-time employees, with major offices in locations including Palo Alto, New York City, Washington, D.C., and London. The company maintains additional leased space in Europe, Asia, and the Middle East.

Palantir did not provide specific reasons for the latest move in its announcement wrote CNBC, and representatives did not immediately respond to requests for further comment. The decision follows the company’s history of relocating to align with evolving operational and cultural preferences.

The technology company Palantir Technologies (often just called Palantir), co-founded by Peter Thiel in 2003, deliberately took its name from these Tolkien seeing-stones. The inspiration ties into the company’s focus on data integration, analytics, and software platforms that help users “see” patterns and insights across vast, disparate datasets—much like gaining far-seeing vision. Products like Gotham (for defense/intelligence) and Foundry (for commercial use) enable connecting siloed information sources to support decision-making in complex environments.
