Zoe Saldaña Wore a One-of-a-Kind Cartier Necklace to the 2025 Oscars
The Emilia Pérez star’s piece came from the workshop at Cartier Panthère in Paris, France, Town & Country reported on Sunday, March 2.
The choker featured a 10.10-carat Zambian emerald at its center, “hung from a speckled vine-like cord of onyx and diamonds,” the publication reported. It took 34 months — and a total of 4,827 hours — to create the necklace. Zoe selected the piece personally in a private appointment that included her stylist Petra Flannery, and Cartier Panthère’s High Jewelry workshop director Alexa Abitbol, during a visit to Paris.

While Zoe wore the necklace short around her neck, the piece featuring a panther’s head can be transformed into a far longer one “using a second strand finished with another panther — also with emerald eyes,” according to the outlet.

The Avatar star wore the necklace with a strapless Saint Laurent gown. Designed by creative director Anthony Vaccarello, it featured a sheer nude band at the bust with a black metallic overlay and an empire waist burgundy skirt with several cinched bubbles. Zoe added sheer black opera gloves to finish off her Oscars look.

Upon taking the stage, the newly minted Academy Award winner joyfully yelled, “Mami! Mami!” while waiving at her mother in the audience. “My mom is here. My whole family’s here. I am floored by this honor,” Zoe proclaimed.
She went on to thank her husband of 11 years, Marco Perego, saying, “To my husband with that beautiful hair. The biggest honor of my life is being your partner. You hung the moon in our beautiful perfect sons, Cy, Bowie and Zen. They fill our sky every night with stars,” referring to the couple’s three sons.
Zoe and Marco married in June 2013. She gave birth to identical twin sons Cy Aridio and Bowie Ezio on November 27, 2014. Zen arrived in an “unconventional” way in December 2016.
The Guardians of the Galaxy star announced her son’s birth in February 2017, explaining in an Instagram post, “Marco and I are elated to share the news of the birth of our son Zen. We couldn’t feel more blessed with the new addition to our family. Three boys … oh boy!” along with a photo of the siblings.
“This is something we’re being very meticulous about because of the process of how we completed our family,” Zoe told People in March 2017. “When we’re there, when the time comes and our third baby is a little older—and all the forces that helped us have him with us are comfortable — then we will share it, because we know it would be very positive and inspiring to many families that are looking to complete themselves and are not able to do it in the conventional way.”
