World Series odds: Yankees now favored over Dodgers
The Los Angeles Dodgers opened the season as favorites to win the World Series and finished the regular season season that way. The Dodgers had opened at +550, moved to +450 after signing Shohei Ohtani in the offseason and now sit at +350 at ESPN BET.
However, the Dodgers are no longer the top option to win it all. Those honors go to the New York Yankees, who suddenly find themselves at just +300 to celebrate with champagne come November.
Speaking of those Yankees, they boast the best odds to win the American League at +110, followed by the Cleveland Guardians and Detroit Tigers, both at +360. The Dodgers (+185) and Philadelphia Phillies (+225) sit 1-2 to win the NL pennant.
The playoffs continued on Wednesday with all four best-of-three wild-card series featuring the Tigers at the Houston Astros, the Kansas City Royals at the Baltimore Orioles, the New York Mets at the Milwaukee Brewers and the Atlanta Braves at the San Diego Padres.
Detroit, Kansas City and San Diego all completed two-game sweeps to advance. Milwaukee defeated the Mets to force a decisive Game 3 on Thursday night at 7:08 p.m ET (ESPN).
The Dodgers, Yankees, Phillies and Guardians will jump back into action for the ALDS and NLDS, which will begin on Saturday.
