“Preparing for heart surgery [is] just our main focus right now,” Dimitrius told Bobby Bones before his performance. “One of the most amazing times of Hollywood week was when I was able to FaceTime my mom and have Katy Perry pray for her. That was big. She wasn’t expecting that, and I just wanted to share that moment with her. It was really great, and it meant a lot to me. Just yesterday, I was walking down Baltimore and North Avenue and now I’m in Hawaii for free. Like what? I’m just excited.”‘

During his Top 20 performance, Dimitrius sang Adele’s “Hello” and performed “Love Someone” alongside Lukas Graham. Dimitrius performed Ed Sheeran’s hit “Perfect” and Billie Eilish’s tune “When The Party’s Over” during the Top 14 competition and advanced to the Top 10 thanks to a save by judge Luke.

Dimitrius’ rendition of Phil Collins’ “You’ll Be in My Heart” fell short, leading him to head back home before the semifinals.
