Fox News host Bret Baier revealed that Vice President Kamala Harris showed up late and ultimately cut her highly anticipated interview with the network short after behind-the-scenes protests from staffers.

Baier was joined by a number of Fox News personalities, including former White House Press Secretary Dana Perino, to discuss the highly anticipated interview shortly after it aired on Wednesday evening. The Fox News host noted that a number of Harris’ staffers appeared to be freaking out behind the scenes, ultimately culminating in an abrupt end to the discussion.

“Dana you’ve been on the other side, you’ve been on the the ‘wrapper’ as a press secretary interviewing a president,” he said, referring to the act of wrapping up an interview abruptly. Baier then noted that several Harris staffers were very active behind-the-scenes and aggressively cut the interview short.

“I’m talking like four people waving their hands,” Baier reported.

The moment Harris’ staffers opted to end the interview could be seen at the very end of the segment. “Madam Vice President, they’re giving me the hard wrap,” Baier told Harris before thanking her for her time.

Baier further explained that the Harris Campaign attempted to make several last-minute changes to the interview, which is being widely viewed as a disaster.

“You know when the kicker in football, uh, they call a timeout right before he’s going to take the field goal uh… they’re icing the kicker,” he explained.

The Fox News veteran went on to note that the interview was scheduled to begin at 5 p.m., though Harris did not show up until 5:15. This caused significant disruptions for the network, and almost delayed the interview’s scheduled 6 p.m. debut that was promised to voters. “So that’s how it started. And I could tell when we started talking that she was going to be tough to, to you know, redirect without me trying to interrupt,” Baier further explained.

“I did this with President Obama. At one point I just said, ‘mr. president I know you like the filibuster.’ I just didn’t even have the chance to sometimes redirect in those ways. I had a-lot of other questions.”
