Zelenskiy Taunts Putin To Show In Istanbul, Kremlin Silent
The effort by globalists seems to be an attempt to derail negotiations before they start.
UPDATE: Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov (nickname the ‘Old Horse’) will lead the Russian delegation to peace negotiations in Istanbul on Thursday, despite European and Ukrainian taunts at Russian President Putin.
Russia is proceeding with preparations for the Istanbul negotiations with Ukraine, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov said in a briefing today, reported Russian state news agency TASS.
“Russia is moving forward with preparations for the talks that are expected to take place on Thursday,” he noted. Kremlin declines further comment on Zelensky’s proposal for Putin to attend talks in Türkiye.
“We will announce who will represent Russia at talks in Türkiye when Putin sees fit.”
President Trump declared yesterday that he ‘thought both leaders will be there,” referring to negotiations to being in Istanbul this Thursday between Ukraine and Russia to end the war.
The White House said there is no official decision yet for Trump to join the negotiations in Turkey, reported Bloomberg.
The narrative by the Zelenskiy government that Putin does not want to attend, in order to delay the end of the conflict, does not seem logical, as world leaders typically do not participate in the early stages of peace negotiations. For example, President Trump has not participated directly in negotiations with Gaza, or Yemen, or the Ukraine conflict, preferring to get involved directly to try and close a deal.
“Putin’s refusal to participate in the negotiations in Türkiye will be the last signal of Russia’s unwillingness to end the war,” said Zelenskiy un-elected advisor and Chief of Staff Yermak today to the national press.
The effort by globalists seem to be an attempt to derail negotiations before they start.
Russian State Duma Defense Committee Chairman Kartapolov declared, “Zelensky doesn’t have the leverage for ultimatums. He’s not in a position to make demands and should agree to talks.”
EU countries have fully agreed on the 17th package of sanctions against Russia.
EU Foreign Policy Chief Kaja Kallas said, “Russia is playing games, trying to buy time.”
Unconfirmed reports from Russian sources claim Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov will lead the Russian delegation and Presidential aide Yuri Ushakov will also be part of the delegation, reported The Clash Report.
German Defence Minister Pistorius said, “Putin is behaving as usual, will need to take further steps regarding sanctions and weapons deliveries to Ukraine.”
