U.S., Ecuadorian Forces Launch Joint Operations Towards Narco-Terrorists – Journal Posts
Ecuadorian and U.S. military forces carried out coordinated operations on Tuesday targeting Designated Terrorist Organizations in Ecuador, according to US Southern Command.
The actions demonstrate a shared commitment across Latin America and the Caribbean to confront groups that have long spread terror, violence, and corruption.
“We commend the men and women of the Ecuadorian armed forces for their unwavering commitment to this fight, demonstrating courage and resolve through continued actions against narco-terrorists in their country,” said SOUTHCOM Commander Gen. Francis L. Donovan.
Ecuador’s Defense Ministry described the effort as an “offensive” operation conducted with U.S. support, noting that operational details remain classified.
