Trump's Third-Term Talk Sparks Social Media Frenzy: “I'd Love to Run Against Obama”
President Donald Trump sent social media into a frenzy after he said he would love to run against former President Barack Obama in a hypothetical race for a third term.
While responding to a reporter’s question about the possibility of the Democratic Party nominating Obama for a third term, Trump said, “I would love that,” adding, “Boy, I’d love that. That would be a good one. I’d like that.”
Trump also mentioned others encouraging him to run, adding, “They do say there’s a way you can do it, but I don’t know about that,” while pointing to his accomplishments in his second administration.

However, the 22nd Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, ratified in 1951, limits presidents to two terms in office.
The only exception to the term limits was Franklin D. Roosevelt, who served four terms before the amendment was passed.

If Trump did run for a third term, he would likely face massive opposition from both Democrats and Republicans.
Furthermore, any attempt to reverse the 22nd Amendment would require a significant political effort to gain enough votes to pass a constitutional amendment.
However, Trump told NBC that he was not joking about the possibility of a third term, adding that there are “methods” to go about it.
Watch:
While some continue to speculate about Trump’s next steps, his comments on a third term remain intriguing and unlikely, given constitutional limitations.
