The Issue: Chief Justice John Roberts’ rebuke of President Trump for his attacks on the judiciary.
Chief Justice John Roberts has finally had enough of President Trump’s relentless attacks on the judiciary (“The judicial glower at prez,” March 19).
His stern rebuke of Trump’s latest denigration of a federal judge was both necessary and long overdue.
Roberts rightly pointed out that for over 200 years, impeachment has never been an appropriate response to judicial rulings.
Trump thinks he is above the law, a self-proclaimed king.
Roberts has done a public service in reaffirming that the executive branch is not the only branch with authority.
The executive must be held accountable.

For all the complaints about Trump being a dictator, how do people justify unelected judges overriding presidential authority?
So much for Supreme Court justices being non-ideological.
Chief Justice John Roberts is defending liberal activist judges, just like when he saddled us with ObamaCare.
Maybe it’s Roberts who needs to be impeached.

The Trump administration ignoring court orders sets a dangerous precedent.
But an equally dangerous precedent is being set by the judiciary itself — flagrantly disregarding the separation of powers.
A single federal judge ruled that the executive branch cannot immediately deport dangerous illegal aliens. This defies common sense.
The chief justice would be wise to rein in federal judges who believe they have unchecked authority over the president’s constitutional powers.

The United States is no longer teetering on the brink of a constitutional crisis — it has already fallen into one.
The Constitution was designed to prevent tyranny, but relentless assaults on our freedoms by Donald Trump, with the full support of congressional Republicans, have rendered it nearly powerless.
Trump’s disregard for the rule of law is amply documented.
Calling for a judge’s impeachment is just the latest entry in a long history of disgraces.

Yes, the rule of law must be followed.
But why was it ignored when illegal migrants were welcomed with open arms at the Roosevelt Hotel?
Yes, deportations must be legal. Yes, those being expelled should have due process.
I hope this case will make it to the Supreme Court.
But before that, we must reconsider the sweeping authority of lower-court judges can who issue nationwide injunctions that affect us all.

The Issue: NASA astronauts’ return to Earth after nine months stuck on the International Space Station.
Elon Musk is a man who finds ways to make things happen where others have failed (“They came from outer space,” March 19).
His philosophy is simple: Lead, follow or get out of the way.
Congratulations to the astronauts, to SpaceX and to Musk for yet another remarkable achievement.

Thanks to Elon Musk, astronauts Suni Williams and Butch Wilmore have safely returned to Earth after nine months stranded in space.
No doubt both they and their families are overjoyed.
Hopefully, their rehabilitation period as they acclimate to Earth’s gravity goes smoothly.
Let’s also hope that Musk receives the recognition he deserves, rather than the usual criticism from the left-leaning media.
He accomplished what NASA proved it could not.
