Tom Homan Torches 'Woke' Pope for Criticizing Trump's Deportation Agenda: 'Stick to the Catholic Church and Fix That!'

President Donald Trump’s border czar, Tom Homan, slammed Pope Francis’s recent attacks on the administration’s agenda of deporting illegal aliens from the United States.

Francis called the deportations a “disgrace and added that the “poor wretches that don’t have anything.”

Homan pointed out that the Pope’s comments failed to acknowledge that Vatican City has heavy security measures to protect itself from unknown entrants.

“They have a wall around the Vatican,” Homan said.

“And if you illegally enter the Vatican, the crime is serious — you’ll be charged with a serious crime, be jailed.”

“So he can protect the Vatican where he lives, he can build a wall where he lives, but American people are not allowed that? No,” Homan added, balking at the inconsistency.

Homan also learned about the broader consequences of failing to enforce immigration law in the United States.

“Securing the border saves lives. He needs to understand that,” Homan continued.

“When less people come, less women get raped by the cartel, less children die in the river, less Americans die from fentanyl overdoses.”

Homan said that Francis “ought to stick to the Catholic church and fix that, [since] that’s a mess,” noting the Vatican has strict border security measures.

Just weeks before President Donald Trump took office, the Holy See issued an order increasing the monetary penalties and prison sentences of anyone who illegally enters the Vatican.

Anyone caught illegally entering the Vatican could be fined between 10,000 and 25,000 euros, roughly $9,500 to $24,000, and face prison.

Additionally, those caught entering illegally face being banned from the Vatican territory f for up to 15 years.

Last year, the Pope called for “looser” laws on immigration and denounced those turning away illegal migrants from international borders.

“Rather than more restrictive laws and the militarization of borders, what is needed is an expansion of secure and regular means of access,” the Pontiff told those present for his weekly General Audience, “and a global governance of migrations based on justice, fraternity, and solidarity.”

“It must be said clearly: there are those who work systematically and by any means to turn away migrants – to turn away migrants,” the Pope stated.

“And this, when done with conscience and responsibility, is a grave sin.”
