Tom Homan Drops Bombshell on ICE Raid That Sparked LA Riots: “Larger Investigation” Unfolding
President Trump’s border czar Tom Homan shared new details on the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) raids which ignited the attacks on federal agents and riots across Los Angeles.
Despite claims from California Governor Gavin Newsom and other state officials, who said the violence erupted only after President Donald Trump deployed the National Guard, the unrest actually began when agents came under attack.
Agents were cornered into a federal building as leftist mobs attacked them with rocks, clubs, hammers, and fireworks.
The violence escalated when agents were nearly killed by rioters tossing large rocks at moving vehicles.
Homan shared new details on the raid that led to the unrest during an appearance on “Dr. Phil Primetime.”
“This warehouse and retail outlet that you served warrants on, the belief is and the evidence suggests that this is a cartel-related business here in the United States,” Dr. Phil began.
“That this money, the $80 million that they are suspected of undervaluing the double-digit millions in tariffs that they are suspected and will be charged with violations on income tax evasion.”
“You believe that all of that is for, is benefiting an illegal cartel, a cartel in Mexico or Colombia, do you know which cartel?”
While Homan didn’t provide details on the exact cartel in question, he noted the raid was tied to a larger investigation.
“No, it’s a larger investigation, and this company is one of many that we’re searching and gathering evidence on the fact that much of the money in this industry is laundered to Colombia and Mexico in support of cartel activities,” the White House border czar explained.
Watch:
“We also got tax evasion, and we also got customs fraud. And, you know, a big part of ICE responsibilities are customs, customs laws, customs enforcement,” he continued.
“So this is one business out of many we’re looking at, so it’s a part of a bigger investigation.”
“And as we gather more and more evidence, then we’ll decide what we want to criminally prosecute.”
Forty-five illegal aliens have been arrested in at least seven raids across Los Angeles on Friday night.
One Mexican national had previous convictions for homicide and burglary, in addition to returning from a previous deportation.
Mab Khleb, 53, from Cambodia, has a colorful criminal history that includes a conviction for transport of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, lewd action with a child, and battery.
Others arrested had previous convictions for rape, drug trafficking, amphetamine manufacturing, human smuggling, and child sex crimes.
