TikTok Sensation and TV Host Jennifer Rivas Passes Away Unexpectedly at 21
A beloved TikTok star and television presenter in her native Honduras was found dead at her home on Wednesday, October 1, according to Honduran news channel HCH Televisión Digital.
Jennifer Nicole Rivas, who was just 21, suffered from epilepsy, which is believed to have played a role in her death, local news outlets reported.
She was on permanent medication for the condition, per HCH Televisión Digital.
Rivas presented on Honduran channel CHTV and had amassed more than 100,000 followers on TikTok.
In the wake of her sudden passing, Honduran podcast El Showsero TV paid tribute to the young influencer.
“With deep sorrow, from ‘El Showsero TV’ and the whole team of ‘El Eventazo: Pickle War,’ we mourn the irreparable loss of our beloved participant Jennifer Rivas, from the Los del Barrio team 🕊,” the message read, translated to English.
The statement continued:
“A person full of energy and enthusiasm who left a mark on every moment shared. Our deepest condolences to her family, friends and loved ones at this difficult time. 🫂”
TP reports that hours before she died, Rivas posted a photo of herself standing on what appeared to be a pickleball court.
“Getting ready,” the translated caption read, according to a report from the New York Post.
Rivas was a student at the National Autonomous University of Honduras — the nation’s largest and highest-ranked college — where she was studying journalism, according to her Instagram bio.
