Thug Attempts to Carjack Pregnant Woman, Hero Army Vet Steps in – WATCH
A pregnant woman was moments away from becoming another carjack statistic in Ocala, Florida, when a heroic army veteran saved her.
Army Veteran Shane Spicer was waiting for his coffee order in Starbucks Drive-thru when he spotted the woman in danger.
“I feel like if you’ve got the ability to watch out for someone, that you should,” Spicer said.
“I would just hope that someone would do the same for my family.”
The carjacking suspect, Michael Prouty, has a long history of criminal offenses going back more than 20 years.
Prouty was pursued for allegedly burglarizing a home, stealing a car and then crashing it.
The Daily Mail reported:
“Just getting started with the day, had maybe been awake 20 to 25 minutes. I live about a mile from that Starbucks,” Spicer told Fox35:
“Sprinting up to Starbucks, and he didn’t look like a Starbucks coffee drinker.”
When he saw Prouty running, Spicer thought:
“I’m going to get you, buddy! You’re not going anywhere now! You crossed the line!”
The Army veteran went on to tell the channel:
“I feel like if you’ve got the ability to watch out for someone, that you should.”
“I would just hope that someone would do the same for my family.”

Prouty had been released from prison in February after serving five years on other robbery charges.
