The Wildest White Lotus Fan Theories Ahead of the Season 3 Finale
The White Lotus season 3 has been a wild ride, and everything comes to an end during the finale set to air on April 6, 2025. Since the season 3 premiere in February, fans have been putting together some wild theories about who dies, who the killer is and more.
Mook Is In Cahoots With the Thieves in ‘The White Lotus’
Mook, played by BLACKPINK’s LaLisa Manobal, has mainly been on the sidelines since the start of season 3. However, some viewers think there’s much more to Mook than meets the eye. While she comes off as the sweet, innocent girlfriend of security guard Gaitok (Tayme Thapthimthong), could Mook have her sights set on loftier goals?
Thieves robbed the jewelry store inside the hotel at gunpoint in episode 2, something Gaitok was admonished for since it happened on his watch. The criminals were later revealed to be working with fellow hotel employee Valentin (Arnas Fedaravicius), and some White Lotus fans believe Mook might be working with them.
“I was thinking earlier tonight that Mook is involved. Seems pretty convenient that she showed up to see how our dude Gaitok was doing and that she was seen with those shady bodyguards earlier in the season. I’m suspicious,” one fan wrote on Reddit.
Was Mook’s comment about wishing Gaitok was more “ambitious” foreshadowing her own willingness to do what it takes to get what she wants?
Is 3 the Magic Number?
The number three has continually popped up throughout The White Lotus season 3. In the premiere, when fans were introduced to the Ratliff siblings, it didn’t take long for viewers to notice that their placement in the shot mimicked the three wise monkeys. (See no evil, speak no evil and hear no evil.)
Chelsea, played by Aimee Lou Wood, noted that “bad things happen in threes” after she had her second brush with death, and Tim Ratliff (Jason Isaacs) hid the gun he stole from Gaitok in the third drawer from the left and three rows down inside the cabinet inside the Ratliff’s suite. Plus, there’s the trio of women and the trio of robbers. All of this has led some fans to think there might be three victims or possibly three killers.
“I predict there will be a trifecta. Three deaths, one from three group of threes. But who and from which groups of threes is yet to be known,” one Redditor speculated.
‘The White Lotus’ Season 3 Finale Title Might Hold a Clue
Creator Mike White is known for dropping clues and hints about the mystery at hand throughout each season of The White Lotus. The title of the finale in season 3 is “Amor Fati,” which is Latin for “love of fate.” Fans have watched Piper (Sarah Catherine Hook) repeatedly wrestle with coming to terms with her parents’ seemingly close-minded view of the world, but when she visited the monastery, her dad, Tim, actually sought out one of the monks to ask him about his thoughts on the afterlife.
“You return to the water you come from. It’s a happy return. It’s a homecoming,” the monk explained.
Tim has been spiraling since he learned that his financial crimes have finally caught up with him. He’s had dreams and visions about killing himself, killing his family and more. What if the monk gave Tim a different way to look at death? If he was initially scared of what awaited him and his family across the veil, the monk made it seem not so bad.
“Tim has been wrestling with suicide and was told that death is a return home, a peaceful experience. That may have made Tim feel that killing himself, dying altogether – would be a positive release from his pain in a way he didn’t know about before,” one viewer wrote in The White Lotus subreddit.
Another person chimed in and added, “This probably also helped him justify the murder/suicide with his wife. The kids are young, they’ll be alright.”
Fans will have to wait to see how everything pans out in The White Lotus season 3 finale, which airs on HBO and Max on April 6, 2026, at 9:00 p.m. ET.
