The OnePlus 12 has been revealed in leaks.
As we get closer and closer to the release of the OnePlus 12, it should come as no surprise that rumours are continuing to emerge.
As the company’s motto is ‘Never Settle’, it should come as no surprise that work on a OnePlus 11 successor appears to be close to completion. And that means we already have a pretty good idea of what to expect.
Here’s everything you need to know about the OnePlus 12.
When will the OnePlus 12 be released?
There’s no official word from OnePlus yet on when we’ll see the new model, but so far all signs point to a reveal right at the end of 2023.
Both Max Jambor and Yogesh Brar have reported that OnePlus will reveal the 12 in China this December, with Brar adding that the global launch will follow in January 2024 “and not in February as some people are reporting”.
The OnePlus 11 received its Chinese market launch in January 2023, with the global release following in February. So it looks like the OnePlus 12 will arrive a month earlier than its predecessor.
How much will the OnePlus 12 cost?
Again, no solid details about pricing has been made available from OnePlus at the time of writing. For some clues, we can look to the previous models to see how they line up:
OnePlus 11 (8GB/128GB) – $699/£729/€849
OnePlus 11 (16GB/256GB) – $799/£799/€919
There wasn’t a OnePlus 10 model, as instead we were treated to a OnePlus 10 Pro model and the OnePlus 10T follow-up. Here’s how those two models were priced:
OnePlus 10 Pro (8GB/128GB) -$899/£799/€899
OnePlus 10 Pro (12GB/256GB) – $969/£899/€899
OnePlus 10T (8GB/128GB) – $649/£629/€699
OnePlus 10T (16GB/256GB) – $749/£729/€799
However, given the rumoured upgrades detailed below, a price rise on the OnePlus 12 is very possible. But it’s difficult to predict how much more expensive it might get.
What specs and features will the OnePlus 12 have?
The release may still be a way off, but leakers have already revealed what they think will be the design and spec sheet of the OnePlus 12.
Let’s start with the design, which we’ve seen in renders created by OnLeaks and released by SmartPrix:
The renders reveal a design that’s similar to the OnePlus 11, but with a few key changes. On the front, the bezel around the display is thinner, and the punch-hole selfie camera has moved from the corner of the screen into the centre.
More interestingly, on the back we can see a long periscope zoom lens on the camera island, matching rumours that OnePlus will adopt this more advanced style of telephoto lens. The extra space it takes up also means the flash has been moved off the main module and into the mount at the top-left.
As for the specs, both SmartPrix and Yogesh Brar have reported that the display will be a 6.7in, QHD panel with a 120Hz refresh rate. That’s the same as the OnePlus 11, though Brar has since tweeted that the phone will have an “improved new gen display,” so there must be some subtler upgrades in store.
However, according to the latest information shared by Digital Chat Station on Weibo (via GSMArena), the OnePlus 12 is expected to have a 6.82in display, which is slightly larger than the already spacious 6.7in screen on the OnePlus 11.
That’s not all though, as along with the larger screen, its maximum brightness is also expected to increase, up to 2,600 nits. This would agree with an earlier comment from Brar, who suggested a peak brightness of over 2,000 nits. according to which the OnePlus 12 is expected to offer a brightness of more than 2,000 nits.

Brar has also added that the OnePlus 12 will feature an upgrade of the IP rating compared to the IP64 of the OnePlus 11. It might even match many flagship phones and get IP68.
Under the hood, the phone is expected to switch from the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 to the upgraded Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. According to SmartPrix, this will be combined with 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB of UFS 4.0 storage, though it’s unclear if this is the starting spec or not.
Digital Chat Station also suggested that the top-tier configuration of the OnePlus 12 will feature 24GB of RAM and 1TB of storage, but it may only be in China. This represents an upgrade from the previous model, which offered a maximum configuration of 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage.
As for battery, while Brar points to a fairly standard 5000mAh battery, SmartPrix expects an unusually large 5400mAh cell instead. Both agree that there will be 100W wired charging. Brar has also mentioned a return of 50W wireless charging, along with the addition of reverse wireless charging.
However, it’s worth noting that, depending on the region, 100W charging may not appear globally. It’s possible that in the US, there could be a limitation to 80W charging, as seen in the OnePlus 11.
The 50Mp main camera looks like it’s staying, but the ultrawide is apparently being bumped up to 50Mp and a new 64Mp periscope replacing the current 32Mp telephoto. It should make the OnePlus 12 an even better phone for zoom photos. However, SmartPrix predicts that it will still only be a 3x optical zoom, which is below the magnification of some key rivals.

Brar has also tweeted that the main camera will be getting a new imaging sensor, so there should be some sort of upgrade there too. A Weibo leak claims that this will be an IMX9 sensor, possibly the 1in IMX989. Finally, SmartPrix adds that the selfie camera should use a 32Mp sensor, up from 16Mp on the OnePlus 11.
It’s still a while before we’ll see the model, so things could easily change. With that in mind, do check back regularly as we’ll be updating this article as more details become clear.
